Chapter 15: Kidnapped
Upon hearing this, Wen Yun’an nodded slightly and turned his gaze toward Wen Wan’er, who had just gotten out of bed and looked somewhat languid. He reminded her, “You must hurry and get ready; don’t let the art exhibition be delayed.”
Wen Wan’er quickly nodded in agreement, watching as Wen Yun’an left by car.
Once Wen Yun’an’s figure disappeared from sight, the man’s face showed a trace of delight. He glanced at Wen Wan’er and said, “That girl Qing’er is incredibly lucky to have gotten close to you. Young Master Wen is indeed handsome and talented—no wonder Duoduo only dares to admire him secretly. A rich young master and a Cinderella, after all, belong to two different worlds.”
Wen Wan’er felt a flicker of displeasure at the man’s words. She replied coldly, “If your work is done, then leave quickly. If it weren’t for taking care of Duoduo, I wouldn’t allow outsiders to work in the Wen household.”
As Wen Wan’er was about to turn and return to her room, the man’s phone suddenly vibrated.
“I’m waiting for you at the entrance.”
He glanced at the screen, his expression shifting slightly. After telling Wen Wan’er a word, he left.
Wen Wan’er simply turned back to her room, hiding behind the window to secretly observe the man’s every move.
After the man left the villa, Qing’er stepped down from a car parked by the roadside.
Her attire was as extravagant as ever, starkly clashing with the serene atmosphere of the villa. Raising an eyebrow, she asked, “Well? Did you manage to slip in the letter I wrote with my own hand?”
The man approached Qing’er and said, “Qing’er, the matter is done. You can pay now.” He patted his pocket, as if confirming something.
Qing’er smiled and said, “Just wait for the good news. As for the money…” Before she could finish, three masked men suddenly burst out from behind, each wielding a dagger. They swiftly subdued the man.
“Don’t move. If you dare, your life is over.”
Qing’er’s face turned pale. She tried to run, but her injured leg couldn’t support her, and she collapsed after a few steps.
One of the masked men quickly approached Duoduo, pulling out a handkerchief to cover her mouth and nose.
Qing’er instantly lost consciousness, her body going limp on the ground.
Everything happened so fast that the man was subdued before he could react.
He looked at the masked men in horror, attempting to call for help but unable to make a sound.
Wen Wan’er, witnessing this scene, felt a surge of suspicion. “Could it be Qing’er’s doing?”
Within seconds, she realized, “This is bad. Qing’er is in danger.” As the situation abruptly changed, she sprinted outside.
By the time Wen Wan’er burst out of the villa, a white van was already roaring away, leaving only a trail of dust behind.
“Stop! Hurry up and stop!” Wen Wan’er shouted in panic.
She fumbled for her phone and called Wen Yun’an. “It’s not good, not good, brother. Something’s happened. Qing’er—Qing’er has been kidnapped…”
Her voice was choked with tears.
“What? What did you say? I just left the house. What happened at home? Who kidnaps a servant? What on earth is going on?” came Wen Yun’an’s deep, furious voice from the other end.
“I... I don’t know. It all happened so suddenly... But I don’t know if their target is Qing’er or that man. This must be related to the Yun Corporation. Brother, please come back quickly.”
Wen Wan’er recalled something, thinking about the two who had gone missing together. She struggled to stay calm.
After hanging up, Wen Yun’an, having just arrived at the Yun Dream Space, immediately instructed the driver to turn the car around and head home.
“But, Young Master, some of the fans have been waiting for a long time. If you don’t step out to greet them, they’ll be very disappointed, and it might harm your reputation…”
His assistant spoke anxiously.
“When lives are at stake, none of that matters. The priority is to meet with Wan’er first. She must be hiding something from me,” Wen Yun’an said firmly.
His gaze fell upon the crowd gathered at the entrance of Yun Dream Space. Standing by the roadside, art enthusiasts held welcome signs and bouquets, their faces filled with joy.
A trace of disappointment flickered across Wen Yun’an’s eyes. After a moment’s thought, he said, “Today’s art exhibition tickets will be free of charge. Consider it my apology to the fans.”
