Chapter 45: The Absurdity of the Physical Therapy Room
After Zai Wanyu left the therapy room, the door was gently pushed open once more, followed by the crisp, rhythmic clicking of high heels.
Quan Duoduo stepped into the room and came to a halt beside He Lingfeng. Her voice was laced with deep dissatisfaction. "Is doing this really going to work?"
He Lingfeng turned his head, his expression a mix of helplessness and determination. "At this point, we have no other choice. How else are we going to get that ten million? Lin Ou has already issued me an ultimatum." His tone was fraught with urgency and anxiety.
Upon hearing this, Quan Duoduo frowned slightly, yet she ultimately agreed. She adjusted her composure, set her phone camera to the optimal angle, and aimed it at Yun Qiuya and He Lingfeng on the bed.
He Lingfeng knelt on one knee and fished an exquisite ring from his pocket. It sparkled brilliantly. He slowly lifted Yun Qiuya’s hand and began to slide the ring onto her finger. Throughout the process, his expression was one of profound affection.
"Qiuya," he whispered, "even if you haven't woken up yet, we will hold the wedding on schedule. This is my promise to you. This ring is your favorite, designed exactly to your specifications. No matter the cost, as long as you love it, I am willing to buy it for you."
Standing nearby, Quan Duoduo gripped her phone tightly, constantly adjusting the focus and angle of the lens, trying to capture every nuanced emotional moment.
"Watching you say these romantic things to a living corpse like Yun Qiuya makes me so angry!" Quan Duoduo stomped her feet in frustration after finishing the photos. "Why should she still be able to get married when she’s like this? It’s just not fair!"
He Lingfeng glared at her with visible annoyance. "Do you think there’s another way? If the ring hadn't been lost, would I even be performing this charade? I have even less desire to be with this faded woman! Looking at her face disgusts me!"
Hearing his words, a satisfied smile finally graced Quan Duoduo’s face. She reached out to embrace him tightly, cooing in a spoiled tone, "Hearing you say that puts my mind at ease. Since you’re just acting, you can trust my photography skills. It’s a one-take performance; there won’t be a second."
Though Yun Qiuya, lying on the bed, could not see them, their conversation reached her ears with chilling clarity. She felt an overwhelming sense of nausea and rage, yearning to leap up and tear the wretched pair apart. But she knew she could not act rashly; she had to remain calm and silent. Despite the tempest raging within her, she lay motionless, feigning the state of a true patient.
Her face remained devoid of expression; she did not even allow her brow to furrow. She silently endured the humiliation and agony, swearing to herself in the depths of her soul. One day, she would expose this vile pair and make them pay the price they deserved.
Time seemed to freeze, each second carving a deep scar into Yun Qiuya’s heart. She kept her eyes shut tight, struggling to let her thoughts drift away, trying to shield herself from the noise and degradation of the outside world. Yet, every word from Quan Duoduo and He Lingfeng cut through her like a sharp blade.
The room fell into a heavy silence, save for the playback of the scene they had just recorded. He Lingfeng’s affectionate words echoed repeatedly. The therapy room was dim and spacious. A single, amber-hued chandelier hung from the center of the ceiling, casting a soft, hazy glow that bathed the space in a mysterious and illicit atmosphere. Minimalist paintings hung on the walls, intended to add a touch of artistry to the monotonous space, yet in this moment, they seemed stripped of their color and vitality, jarringly out of place.
Quan Duoduo’s voice was like a siren’s call, dripping with unspeakable provocation. She discarded her denim jacket with a fluid, seductive motion, her eyes locked onto He Lingfeng with a predatory charm.
*Thump!*
She shoved He Lingfeng against the wall, her hands roaming over his broad, solid chest. He Lingfeng’s body shuddered, instantly ignited by her fervor. A flicker of confusion and longing crossed his eyes, and he darted a glance at Yun Qiuya on the bed opposite them—a glance stained with lingering hesitation and unease.
However, the friction of Quan Duoduo’s fingertips grew faster, until she undid the buttons on his shirt and slid her hands against his warm skin.
Under Quan Duoduo’s provocation, He Lingfeng’s hesitation was quickly cast aside. He reached out to pinch her exquisite, porcelain-like face, his fingertips gently caressing her skin. "Quan Duoduo, you really are a succubus." His voice was low and gravelly, thick with masculine charm and allure. His eyes burned with a fierce heat, as if he meant to swallow her whole.
Quan Duoduo curled her lips into a triumphant smile. She leaned close to his ear and whispered warmly, "We’ve tried so many things, but we’ve never done it in an environment like this. In this therapy room, beyond the dim lights and the wide-open space, there is the most important element—Yun Qiuya. Imagine it, doing this right in front of her. How exciting is that?"
He Lingfeng’s body jolted again, a flash of shock crossing his features. Quan Duoduo slipped the straps of her top off her shoulders, revealing a expanse of pale, smooth skin. Soon, however, his shock was eclipsed by an indescribable excitement. He stared intently at her, as if trying to etch her image into his mind forever.
"Duoduo, you are truly insane." His voice trembled, filled with anticipation and raw desire. He pulled her into his arms, their bodies pressed tightly together, as if they were melting into one.
The sounds of intimacy began to fill the room. Lying on the bed, Yun Qiuya kept her eyes tightly shut, though her heart felt as if it were being consumed by a raging inferno. She could feel the impact and the insult of every movement and every word from the pair. Her hands gripped the sheets so tightly that her knuckles turned white. She dared not make a sound; she dared not reveal a single flicker of emotion.
