Chapter 61: Chaos

Yun Jiannan curled up in the corner of the sound control room, his face pale and his eyes vacant. He pressed his hands tightly against his ears, trying to block out Shen Qing’s furious roars outside, but the sound still pierced through like needles, stabbing painfully at his heart.
“Yun Jiannan! You bastard! Why did you do this?!” Shen Qing’s voice echoed with fury and despair.
Yun Jiannan trembled helplessly, muttering, “I’ve wronged Qiuyah, I really have…”
Recalling the scene in the video, Yun Jiannan’s heart felt as if it were being torn apart. He could never have imagined that He Lingfeng would do such a thing while Yun Qiuyah was unconscious. Anger and guilt intertwined, driving him to replace the USB drive.
But now, it was all too late. Listening to the chaos outside, he was consumed by a deep hopelessness.
Unable to break into the sound control room, Shen Qing went directly to the hotel front desk and picked up the phone to call He Lingfeng.
“Hello, is this He Lingfeng? There’s been a huge problem! Yun Jiannan swapped the USB with the wedding photos, and now everything outside is in chaos!” Shen Qing said anxiously.
On the other end, He Lingfeng was driving to another location, a heavy stack of ten million in cash resting in the back seat. He had thought the money would settle everything, but now it seemed the situation was far more complicated than he’d imagined.
“What?! Yun Jiannan’s gone mad?!” He Lingfeng roared.
Shen Qing continued, “I don’t know why he did it, but the guests outside are all whispering. You need to deal with this quickly!”
He Lingfeng hung up and slammed on the brakes, stopping the sports car in the middle of the road. His hands clenched tightly on the steering wheel, veins bulging, teeth grinding audibly.

He Lingfeng sat in silence for a moment, then slammed both hands down on the steering wheel. Countless faces and scenes flashed through his mind, but he could not find the root of the problem.
“Who’s behind this?” he muttered.
He recalled Yun Qiuyah lying in the hospital, his heart pierced with pain. Aside from Wen Wan’er and her brother Wen Yun’an, and the caregivers he had paid for, no one else had been at the hospital. But among them, who was the true culprit?
At that moment, his phone rang again, urgent and insistent. Impatient, He Lingfeng answered, only to hear a mysterious voice on the other end.
“He Lingfeng, are you almost there? If you don’t arrive within ten minutes, the three will be taken to the police station. Then your murder will be exposed, and Yun Dream Space will be in jeopardy,” the mysterious voice said coldly.
He Lingfeng’s heart tightened sharply. He realized he was now facing not only a crisis with Yun Dream Space but also a kidnapping threat from this unknown figure. It all felt like an inescapable nightmare.
“I understand. I’ll be there as soon as possible,” He Lingfeng said, taking a deep breath to steady himself.
After hanging up, he began to think rapidly.
Staring at the road ahead, He Lingfeng was filled with inner conflict and struggle. He knew he had made mistakes, but he was unwilling to give up.
“I won’t be defeated like this,” he vowed silently.
He Lingfeng drove to a secluded warehouse—the meeting place designated by the mysterious person. Nervously scanning his surroundings and finding nothing unusual, he stepped inside.

The warehouse was dim and cold. Three hostages, bound and seated on the floor, looked up with eyes full of fear and despair.
“He Lingfeng, you’ve finally arrived,” the mysterious voice came from the shadows, tinged with mockery and triumph.
He Lingfeng stared coldly at the figure and said, “Release them, and I will meet your demands.”
The mysterious person laughed heartily. “He Lingfeng, do you think you still have the right to negotiate? I already have the evidence of your crime.”
He Lingfeng’s eyes sharpened, but he maintained his composure. “What do you want?”
The mysterious person stepped forward and whispered, “I want you to hand over control of Yun Dream Space, and publicly confess your crimes.”
He Lingfeng’s heart sank, but he knew he could not confront head-on now. Pretending to consider it, he said, “I can agree, but you must release them first.”
The mysterious person sneered, “Do you think I trust you? Hand over control first, then I’ll release them.”
Suddenly, a commotion erupted outside the warehouse. The mysterious person’s expression changed. Sensing danger, he immediately raised a gun, aiming it at He Lingfeng.
