Entering the Path of Immortality, Mastering a Hundred Arts Chapter Thirty-Nine: Borrowing a Knife to Kill! (Asking for votes)
One of the six cultivators, a man with a greenish complexion, shouted coldly, "Where did these blind bandits come from, daring to rob the Sky Crane Sect?"
Li Feng retorted angrily, "It is you who covet Cuicui’s beauty! Ganging up on us with your numbers—you are truly shameless!"
The six men exchanged glances, completely bewildered by his accusations. They had no idea what he was talking about.
"Why waste breath on him? Just kill him!" the other elders said, their patience wearing thin. They were already annoyed at being sent to retrieve Jinyanzi, and now this clown had appeared out of nowhere.
The green-faced cultivator narrowed his eyes, gave a subtle signal to his companions, and then lunged forward.
Li Feng, having anticipated this, crushed a Wind-Dash Talisman. The powerful kinetic force instantly widened the gap between them. He turned and sprinted toward the inner perimeter. Being far more familiar with the terrain of the Ten Thousand Mountains than the six cultivators, Li Feng easily shook them off. However, he intentionally kept a safe distance of a few hundred meters—close enough to lure them, yet far enough to avoid being caught.
When they reached the boundary marker of the inner circle, the green-faced cultivator sensed something was wrong and immediately signaled his companions to stop. "Our mission is to escort Jinyanzi back to the sect; there is no need to waste time with this lunatic."
Seeing they were giving up, Li Feng added more fuel to the fire. "Hey, you six idiots! I have Jinyanzi right here. Are you sure you aren't coming after me?"
"You... are you that evil cultivator?" The six men looked solemn, channeling their spiritual energy and locking onto Li Feng’s aura to prevent him from escaping.
Li Feng puffed out his chest, declaring proudly, "That’s right, the evil cultivator is me, and I am Li Etian!"
The six men, initially skeptical, took him at his word and launched a coordinated assault. Li Feng stepped back, and his figure vanished instantly.
The others looked unsettled, unsure of what trick Li Feng had used, but the green-faced cultivator sneered. "Trying to trap us with a second-tier illusion array? What a pipe dream!" As a second-tier array master himself, he was intimately familiar with such formations. To him, this was as obvious as a trap with an instruction manual attached. "Everyone, follow me into the array and capture this thief!"
Trusting the green-faced cultivator’s expertise, the other five followed him into the illusion. The scenery inside was no different from the outside, and the anticipated fierce attack never came. The array was deathly silent.
"Elder Fa, what is going on?" the five asked, looking at their leader. The green-faced cultivator was equally confused. Although the illusion array had been activated, it had no effect at all.
Just as the six were filled with bewilderment, a wretched wail echoed through the space. "Senior! If you don't show yourself, you'll never see the descendants of Qingshan again!"
In the short time they had been apart, Li Feng had changed into tattered clothes and smeared himself with blood, looking utterly disheveled.
Hearing the wailing, the six men felt a chill crawl up their spines. Was he calling for ghosts?
The green-faced cultivator snorted, brandishing his halberd with a sneer. "Playing god and acting like a ghost—you’re asking for death!" He thrust his halberd forward, surging with spiritual power.
However, a transparent barrier rippled into existence between them. The halberd struck it and could not advance a single inch. The green-faced cultivator’s expression shifted; he was struck with terror. To block his strike so easily without even revealing themselves—the opponent must be at least at the Golden Core stage. Realizing he had encountered an expert, he withdrew his halberd and retreated to the group, assuming a defensive stance.
"Your Excellency, we are members of the Sky Crane Sect. We came here only to find someone and have no desire to make enemies. We hope you understand." The green-faced cultivator invoked his sect’s name, hoping to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control. A good background could block many dangers.
Although Li Feng had been at a disadvantage in the fight, he had firmly controlled the flow of events. He seized the moment, acting his heart out to smear the others. "Senior, the person you entrusted me to find has been located. Who would have thought that this group of people claiming to be from the Sky Crane Sect would intercept us on the way? If I hadn't been cautious, I might never have seen you again."
As soon as he spoke, a thunderous roar shook the air. A figure instantly appeared before them. The six Foundation Establishment cultivators felt an immense pressure and stumbled back several meters. When they steadied themselves, they were filled with horror. From the appearance of the Thunder Roc alone, they knew it was not human. In the cultivation world, any demonic beast capable of taking human form had reached at least the Nascent Soul stage!
This was a Nascent Soul demon lord! And judging by their conversation, the demon lord was also looking for Jinyanzi.
The Thunder Roc ignored the six cultivators and asked Li Feng directly, "Boy, is this true?" It had not expected results so quickly, and its voice wavered slightly.
"This junior would not dare lie. It is the absolute truth," Li Feng said, his exhausted, weak expression filled with a sincerity that could not be faked.
"Where is the descendant of Qingshan now?" the Thunder Roc pressed.
"To avoid being hunted by these six, I have hidden her within the ruins. She is safe for now."
The Thunder Roc let out a long, relieved breath, laughing. "Good! Take me to her!" It could hardly wait.
Li Feng looked at the six nervous cultivators. "Senior, what shall we do with them?"
The green-faced cultivator hurriedly stepped forward. "Great Demon Lord, since you also require this person, we are happy to yield."
The Thunder Roc said nothing, merely snapping its fingers. The six men trembled, their bodies turning charred black as they collapsed, unconscious. Six small lightning snakes slithered across their bodies—no one had seen when they appeared.
Witnessing such unfathomable lethality, Li Feng was left dumbstruck. *A Nascent Soul demon lord—truly terrifying.*
The man and the demon brought the six unconscious elders to the ruins. Li Feng opened the entrance. The Thunder Roc walked in with its hands behind its back. Inside the main tomb, Cuicui lay covered in wounds and blood, her face pale and her breathing shallow.
Li Feng was stunned. He had never expected Cuicui to improvise such a dramatic act; he hadn't asked for these wounds. Yet, they looked incredibly authentic, exactly like the aftermath of an attack.
The moment the Thunder Roc saw Cuicui’s face, it grew dazed. "Like... so like! She has seventy percent of Qingshan’s spirit!"
"Senior Thunder Roc, this is the fifth-generation descendant of Senior Qingshan," Li Feng explained at the right moment.
The Thunder Roc nodded gently, stepping forward to brush a lock of hair from Cuicui’s forehead. "Child, are you alone? Where are your parents?"
Though she had rehearsed this many times, Cuicui stumbled over her words. The pressure radiating from the Thunder Roc was too immense; even with the beast trying to restrain it, it was more than she could bear.
"I... they... are dead," Cuicui stammered, like an actor reciting lines.
Li Feng felt a surge of tension. If the Thunder Roc sensed something was wrong, it would be a disaster. Fortunately, the beast was so immersed in the complex emotions of finding a descendant of its old friend that it remained unsuspecting.
"Did they pass away from illness, or did they meet with misfortune?"
Cuicui lowered her head, not daring to meet the Thunder Roc's gaze. "The people from the Sky Crane Sect..." She could not finish the rest of the lines. Yet, this very hesitation convinced the Thunder Roc that the Sky Crane cultivators had left deep psychological scars on Qingshan’s descendant.
It stroked Cuicui’s hair, comforting her, then rose and flicked out six lightning blades, cleanly and ruthlessly ending the lives of the six men.
Li Feng watched the entire scene, his expression unreadable.
