Chapter Forty-Seven: The Reinforcements of the North Arctic Team (Part Two)
"Osas, what about you?" Chen Mo turned his gaze toward Osas and asked.
Osas looked up at Chen Mo, pondered for a moment, and replied, "If possible, I would like to enhance my angelic bloodline, or something related to faith. Do you have any recommendations, Mr. Chen Mo?"
Of course I do. S-rank divinity, S-rank godhood, S-rank demiplane, and then use a mountain of resources to push you straight to the fourth tier, ignite your divine fire, go into a narrative world to bind a massive crowd of people, and your faith-based cultivation style is good to go.
Well, truth be told, this was actually the cultivation method of the divine path of faith. Yet, if one truly wanted to walk the path of faith, one indeed had to follow the divine path of faith. For reincarnators, unless they were bestowed with fortunate encounters like divine spark and divinity arranged and delivered to them by someone like Chu Hao, attempting to walk the divine path of faith within the God's Dimension was an endeavor whose difficulty was practically comparable to playing orthodox immortal cultivation right here in the God's Dimension.
Although the narrative worlds they would experience later on would inevitably present them with divinity arranged by the God and other fine treasures suited for the divine path of faith, those were clearly earmarked for Chu Hao. If anyone dared to forcibly intercept and seize those treasures, a Four Symbols, Five Elements, and Eight Trigrams Grand Formation would likely come crashing down from the heavens...
Therefore, Chen Mo felt rather troubled by Osas's desire to pursue the faith faction. Without destined fortune, attempting to walk the divine path of faith was essentially burning money with very little enhancement in actual combat strength. By the end of all that money-burning, he would probably turn out to be an even greater embarrassment to his tier than Zheng Zha had been in his early days.
Even if one disregarded the orthodox divine paths like divinity and godhood, trying to pursue other unconventional faith-based enhancements without a reliable and tangible source of believers was simply an impossible road to walk.
Although Chen Mo was not entirely without solutions, those methods were far beyond what Osas's current meager side story plots and reward points could replicate and achieve.
"The faith faction is not easily realized within the God's Dimension; it requires vast resources and fortuitous encounters," Chen Mo said candidly. "If your only goal is to improve the faith of the people in your world, you actually do not need to restrict yourself to faith-type enhancements. As long as you possess sufficient strength, you can directly alter the landscape of the world, rectify the world's beliefs, and shift the people's devotion... Surely you understand the logic behind my words."
Compared to letting Osas stumble blindly down a faith-based path that was virtually impossible to realize, Chen Mo felt it was much easier to simply guide him toward a different route.
"Indeed, if I possessed the power to reshape the world's landscape, the thoughts and beliefs of the people would likewise sway according to my will..." Osas murmured thoughtfully. In the end, however, he shook his head, looked at Chen Mo, and said, "What you say is true, but consider it a personal passion of mine—I still wish to pursue enhancements oriented toward the faith faction, such as angels... If we base this strictly on the angelic bloodline, what other suggestions do you have, Chen Mo?"
"Then it depends specifically on the direction you wish to choose. Mages and priests—both of these are enhancements well-suited for the angelic path. You can choose either of them, which would also mean taking on the role of either the mage or the support in our team. That depends entirely on your personal preference."
"If you develop your angelic bloodline to a profound degree, I do happen to have one more recommendation... There is a technique called the *Holy Angel Statue Meditation Method*. The stronger your holy-type or light-type bloodline is, the more you will achieve twice the result with half the effort when practicing this technique. Even if you only upgrade to a B-rank angelic bloodline, you can still spend a side story to acquire the manual and take a look."
"As a side note, without the unlocked genetic limit or sufficient development, the output capacity of early-stage mages and the healing capacity of early-stage priests are both somewhat less than satisfactory. You could also try spending your remaining side stories and reward points to exchange for items such as tubular pulse weapons or Buddha wheels..."
Having coaxed—explaining everything thoroughly to Osas, there were only two people left in the North American Team.
He shifted his gaze toward the taciturn blonde woman. Catching Chen Mo's look, the blonde woman startled and lowered her head, not daring to throw even a single glance in his direction.
A reincarnator with the vibe of an ordinary auntie... Though she clearly looked quite pretty, a young married woman in her thirties at most, she was nonetheless referred to as an auntie, and to this day Chen Mo still had no idea what her name was.
If the members of the North American Team possessed at least some degree of bonds forged through sharing life-and-death trials and advancing and retreating together, then this blonde woman alone shared virtually no bonds whatsoever with anyone else.
She refused to communicate with others. Even Jenny—who was the most talkative, looked the most harmless, and was even willing to reach out and try to converse with her—was always given the cold shoulder as the blonde woman avoided conversation and silently hid herself away.
Even now, having safely returned to the God's Dimension, she remained entirely the same.
"This... madam, the rest of us have gone through life and death together and finally returned to this realm of the God's Dimension. Surely you must believe all of this is real by now? Might you finally tell us your name?"
Since she was, after all, a teammate who had returned to the God's Dimension alongside them, Chen Mo decided to probe with a gentle question. If she was willing to change her current state and integrate into the North American Team, that would be for the best, and he would conscientiously help her choose a decent enhancement to boost her survival capabilities. If, however...
Uh, how could there even be any other scenario? Any normal person would know what choice to make next. What on earth was he even thinking about just now, haha...
And then Chen Mo was severely and utterly shocked by her subsequent words.
"...I don't want to say my name, and I don't want to enhance anything..."
The blonde woman buried her head even lower, practically pressing it flat against the table.
"As long as I scrape together fifty thousand reward points, I can return to my original world, right? And I already have thirty thousand reward points now. After just one more reincarnation world, I'll have enough reward points to go back to the world I came from, and I'll never have to live in terror here ever again..."
Oh, my goodness...
Chen Mo no longer knew what to say.
Damn it, did you not hear a single word of all those related matters and precautions concerning the God's Dimension that I explained to all of you back in *Skyline*?!
Were you actually protected to such an absurd degree by your own mind? Did you have no idea just how terrifying the difficulty of the God's Dimension... oh, wait. Come to think of it, this person really *had* been protected to an excessive degree...
Ever since she descended into *Skyline* and started following the North American Team, she had stayed in luxury hotels, eaten luxurious banquets, and the most exhausting thing she ever had to do was accompany Jenny to swipe Ares's credit card for shopping sprees everywhere.
When they arrived at the safehouse for refuge, she spent her entire day cooped up indoors, staying together with the plot characters. She hadn't participated in the alien-hunting operations in the slightest, yet she had brazenly freeloaded off all the team-wide rewards...
Damn it, so this chick really thought she could survive the next narrative world without any enhancements simply because she had been protected so well and thus failed to develop even a shred of crisis awareness?
Yet I distinctly remember saying it, didn't I? The difficulty of the God's Dimension adjusts dynamically. Since our team acquired so many side story rewards this time, we need to steel our resolve to face even greater hardships in the next match...
"I'm a bit tired, I'm heading back to my room..."
Before Chen Mo could say anything more, he saw the blonde woman stand up abruptly, stride rapidly toward her personal room, and slam the door shut with a sharp click.
J and Ares showed no reaction to this. Osas sighed softly, Chu Hao maintained a completely expressionless face, and Jenny hesitated, shifting her gaze back and forth between the tightly closed door and Chen Mo's face before ultimately saying nothing at all.
Fine then. You cannot save a ghost determined to die.
Chen Mo mentally slapped a "destined to die" label on her. She contributed neither labor nor effort, yet she had the audacity to freeload team resources and drive up the difficulty for everyone else, huh?!
However, now was not the time to deal with her. Chen Mo clicked his tongue internally in annoyance, then turned his attention to the very last person.
"Chu Hao, you should have chosen your enhancement by now, right?"
The others had arrived at the God's Plaza slightly ahead of Chu Hao and had already spent some time selecting their desired enhancements.
And although Chu Hao had arrived later than the rest, while Chen Mo was offering enhancement suggestions to the others, he had seized that exact window of time to find an exchange that suited his heart's desire.
"Yes, I've chosen it."
Chu Hao nodded, a brilliant gleam flashing deep within his eyes.
"The exchange I wish to make is—Arcanist Enlightenment!"
