The chat group lottery had never said it could only produce physical objects, so this was perfectly reasonable.

No, wait. That was not the point, was it?

Chen Mo abruptly sat up and stared blankly at the slip of paper in his hand.

Where had he gotten another lottery draw from?

After pondering the matter for quite some time, Chen Mo finally decided to ask his all-knowing group members again.

[Chen Mo: Everyone, I somehow obtained another chat group lottery draw for no apparent reason. Any idea why?]

[Emiya Shirou: What? The number of lottery draws can increase?]

[Lu Mingfei: Teach me, boss!]

[Aqua: Teach me, boss!]

[Valon: Teach me, boss!]

[Chen Mo: Stop derailing the conversation. I have no idea either... I don't even know what I did to get this extra draw.]

[Kaguya Houraisan: If you don't know, then we understand it even less than you do. (ง•̀_•́)ง]

Indeed. After trying and failing to investigate the various functions of the chat group, Chen Mo put the slip of paper back into his item space.

He was not foolish enough to use its power right away. To maximize its value, he ought to wait until he had unlocked the third stage of the genetic lock. Then, by using the slip, he could immediately unlock the fourth stage.

But after thinking it over, he realized that might be rather difficult.

With his current strength, even with the chat group's assistance, he probably could not unlock the genetic lock on his own by facing a life-or-death crisis. At most, he could unlock the second stage... The first stage would depend on Chu Hao's alien hypnosis device, and the second on the captain's certification.

The genetic lock was not limited to being unlocked only in moments of life-or-death crisis. Extremely intense emotional fluctuations could also trigger it. However, Chen Mo felt that he would probably have difficulty encountering any situation capable of causing such powerful emotions.

So he would have to find another method... Could dragon blood unlock the genetic lock? The dragon blood in the Main God Space had been useless, but what about dragons from other worlds? The eastern dragons from Han Li's world, perhaps, or the western dragons from Aqua's world? Or even the Dragon King's blood from Lu Mingfei's world?

Hmm... He really had no idea. He was not even certain whether those worlds came from the Infinite Multiverse, let alone whether dragon blood from within the Infinite Multiverse would have any effect.

It was rather troublesome. Still, high-level bloodline enhancements seemed to possess abilities that could increase one's progress toward unlocking the genetic lock. His own enhancement was at least double-A rank, so surely it would provide some benefit.

Forget it. When the boat reaches the bridge, the way forward will appear. He could think about it more in the reincarnation worlds. Perhaps the lock would open naturally.

With that in mind, Chen Mo stopped dwelling on the matter. Instead, he took several severed body parts from his item space and tossed them onto the floor.

They belonged to the captain of the North Ice Continent Team. The man had possessed a B-rank dual bloodline enhancement—a vampire and a demon—and it would be a waste not to make use of him. Besides, after killing the man in the plot world, Chen Mo had not yet had the chance to search his corpse.

Rubbing his hands together, Chen Mo crouched down excitedly and began going through the body.

A moment later, Chen Mo stood up with a ring in his hand and kicked the corpse with an expression of disgust.

“What a pauper! He’s even poorer than Chu Hao is now. Not a single piece of equipment on him. The only thing worth a side-quest reward is this spatial ring, and there’s nothing decent inside it either... What a damn miser!”

As he spoke, Chen Mo’s right hand transformed into a fleshy tentacle and plunged into the corpse on the floor. The flesh was rapidly devoured, soon leaving behind only a skin sack and a skeleton.

His left hand transformed into a gigantic maw and swallowed the skin in a few bites. Chen Mo pieced the broken bones back together, carried the reconstructed skeleton out of the room, and knocked on Ares’s door.

“Ares, are you there?”

“What do you want?”

“Happy New Year. I’ve brought you a red envelope.”

“What New Year? And the red envelope is another... Holy crap! Does your family give corpses as New Year’s gifts?!”

“You’re a necromancer, aren’t you? Don’t you want a corpse?”

“...I do. What kind of corpse is this? It looks a little... fragmented.”

“Some half-demon blood relative. A trophy from my old ancestor.”

...

...

Time passed swiftly in the Main God Space, and several days vanished in the blink of an eye.

At Chen Mo’s insistence, Chu Hao remained in the Main God Space for several days. He exchanged for several spells, was forced to consume a large quantity of rare treasures and divine-beast flesh every day to improve his physical constitution and arcane energy, and used the enormous computational power provided by his ioun stone to familiarize himself with his arcanist enhancement. He also successfully analyzed several cantrips with the aid of magic scrolls.

Afterward, he took the alien device, spent a D-rank side-quest reward to open a passage, and returned to the real world before making his way safely back to the Main God Space.

That was only natural. With his telekinetic drone cannons in hand, he could overcome any accident through sheer force. To prevent anything unexpected from happening, Chen Mo had even lent Chu Hao the simplified version of his Blood Transformation Blade, which he no longer needed. As a result, nothing unexpected happened at all.

Actually, if one insisted that there had been no unexpected developments, that would not be entirely true. There had been one—but it was a pleasant surprise.

“Uh... you’re back?”

J looked rather bewildered as he stared at Chu Hao, whose clothing and adornments had suddenly changed even though he was still standing exactly where he had been.

“Whether you return from a reincarnation world or from the real world, only an instant passes inside the Main God Space. There’s no need to worry about it,” Chen Mo explained, then turned to Chu Hao.

“Did you run into any trouble on the way back?”

“No.”

Chu Hao shook his head. “Just as you said, information about the Main God Space cannot be disclosed. When the return time arrives, one must return to the location where one entered the real world. However, it is possible to refer to the Main God using substitutes such as ‘that place.’ There are no restrictions on carrying or trading technological blueprints, magic books, other materials, or similar items.”

“With those technological blueprints and magic scrolls, the Rebel organization will certainly become much stronger. We won’t have to sacrifice so many people when dealing with those memetic incidents involving paranormal phenomena...”

As he spoke, a trace of sorrow appeared in Chu Hao’s eyes, but he quickly concealed it.

“I also brought back the hypnosis device I mentioned earlier. Our organization combined it with the alien’s blue-light device. After several rounds of experiments on death-row prisoners, we confirmed that it is a device capable of perfectly unlocking the first stage of the genetic lock!”

“Then doesn’t that mean all of us can unlock the genetic lock?” Jenny cried out in delight.

“That’s right.” Chu Hao smiled faintly. “Every one of us can unlock the first stage of the genetic lock. Unfortunately, the mutational effects caused by the alien’s blue-light device still cannot be removed. However, we can use the Main God Space’s restoration function at any time to erase those effects, so it isn’t a problem.”

“However...”

Chu Hao suddenly hesitated. After weighing his words for a moment, he continued,

“While returning to the real world, I encountered someone... a girl who knew of the existence of the Main God Space and reincarnators. She seemed to be an eastern cultivator.”

“She found me and asked me to bring her into the Main God Space...”

Chen Mo understood at once, but still asked,

“What was her name?”

Chu Hao answered,

“Nian Xikong... Her name is Nian Xikong.”
