Chapter 135 Wei Wei
Qin Miaoyu couldn't quite tell whether she was afraid or something else, but lying in bed, she felt no trace of sleepiness.
Lu Qianan opened his arms toward her.
Qin Miaoyu glanced at him. "What are you doing?"
Lu Qianan smiled gently. "Come here for a hug. Maybe you’ll fall asleep after."
Qin Miaoyu was speechless. "Is your hug some kind of sleep aid? Just one embrace and I'll fall asleep?"
"Try it, maybe it works."
For some reason, Qin Miaoyu recalled how they used to fall asleep in each other’s arms; Lu Qianan’s embrace was always so warm.
But she still hesitated.
Lu Qianan didn’t wait for her consent. With open arms, he pulled her into his embrace.
Feeling the small, soft body against him, the tension in Lu Qianan’s heart finally loosened completely.
No one knew how anxious he had been when Qin Miaoyu disappeared; no one knew the impulsive thoughts that surged through his mind after searching for hours without finding her.
One hand gently stroked her hair as he murmured, "Miaoyu, I’m so glad you’re safe."
Hearing his words, tears fell from Qin Miaoyu’s eyes without warning.
She closed her eyes, trying to hold back the tears, but they flowed uncontrollably, soon dampening Lu Qianan’s shirt.
Feeling the wetness, Lu Qianan gently pushed her shoulders back, hoping to see her face.
But no matter how he coaxed, she refused to look up.
He sighed softly and drew her back into his arms, patting her back soothingly.
Qin Miaoyu didn’t understand why tears suddenly poured out like this.
Even after being knocked unconscious, finding herself tied up in a hotel, and escaping, she had never shed a single tear.
But the moment she saw Lu Qianan, then her worried second brother and Su Ning arriving, those memories overwhelmed her, and the tears would not stop.
With Lu Qianan’s gentle pats, Qin Miaoyu gradually fell asleep.

The breathing of the person in his arms grew steadier as Lu Qianan carried her horizontally into the room.
The room felt somewhat empty; he remembered that Qin Miaoyu had planned to return to Jing City today.
The next morning at ten o’clock, Qin Miaoyu looked around her bedroom and realized she had been carried here by Lu Qianan.
Recalling how she had fallen asleep the night before, she blushed a little.
Lu Qianan and the others had been up for some time. Initially, Liang Siyuan and Zheng Su Ning intended to stay home to keep Qin Miaoyu company, but Lu Qianan insisted he was enough, so Liang Siyuan continued handling the matter of Qin Miaoyu’s kidnapping.
Zheng Su Ning had wanted to stay as well, but she was pregnant and had been searching tirelessly with them the day before. Liang Siyuan worried about her health and insisted she rest at home.
Seeing Lu Qianan rush around for Qin Miaoyu so earnestly, Zheng Su Ning’s respect for him quietly grew.
She had noticed at the club last time that there was still affection between the two.
Qin Miaoyu’s inability to forget Lu Qianan meant he must have something special, especially since she showed little interest in other men. Zheng Su Ning thought it would be good if they rekindled their relationship.
Now, she was even more convinced that them getting back together would be wonderful.
But, everything depended on Qin Miaoyu.
No one knew what was troubling her heart, so no matter how much they hoped, it was useless.
And if Lu Qianan could not resolve this knot, then perhaps he was not as perfect as she imagined.
Qin Miaoyu’s footsteps came down the stairs, and Zheng Su Ning and Lu Qianan’s conversation stopped.
After greeting them, Qin Miaoyu asked, "What were you just talking about?"
There was nothing to hide, so Zheng Su Ning answered directly, "Everything about Su Yikun has been clarified. Yesterday, he drove Liang Sixuan to the Dongshan villa and accidentally learned you were leaving Jing City."
"He was already aware of the Liang family’s plan, and since he has some kinship with Wei Wei, he contacted her directly. From their recorded phone calls, Wei Wei never explicitly told Su Yikun to do anything."
"Was she deliberately leading Su Yikun to suspect something?" Qin Miaoyu asked.
Zheng Su Ning nodded, "Not a single word suggested kidnapping you, but since Su Yikun already knew their plan, Wei Wei didn’t need to try hard to achieve her goal."
Qin Miaoyu was confused, "I don’t have any major grievances with Wei Wei. Why would she do this?"
If anything, it was only that she failed to find a match for Liang Qibin—it hardly constituted a grudge.
"I don’t know. Your second brother went to the Liang family early this morning. There should be news soon."

However, the news from Liang Siyuan was not promising, as Wei Wei refused to admit any involvement with Su Yikun in Qin Miaoyu’s abduction.
Wei Wei knew yesterday that Su Yikun claimed this was their joint scheme because Liang Siquan came back furious, raging at her.
She never expected Su Yikun, who seemed clever, to be so unreliable—he not only failed the plan but also let Qin Miaoyu escape!
But she wasn’t too worried.
She never instructed Su Yikun to do anything; even if the calls were recorded, there was no proof she directed or conspired with him.
So when Liang Siyuan came to the old house that morning, she was leisurely sipping tea.
"You can deny it all you want, but we know what you’ve done. Forget about the Liang family getting investment from the E Group—Lu Qianan will definitely stop that. And don’t even think about asking Lu Qianan for help!" said Liang’s mother, Xi Ruofen.
"What does this have to do with the Liang family? Even if Wei Wei did it, it was on her own. Why drag the Liang family into this?" Liang Siyuan’s mother retorted.
Listening to his mother’s fantasies, Liang Siyuan smiled wryly. "Have you forgotten you once planned to use Miaoyu to climb up through Louis? Be grateful Miaoyu is okay now, or the Liang family would be finished tomorrow!"
Even at its peak, the Liang family couldn’t rival the Lu family in Jing City, let alone now as they decline.
If Lu Qianan wanted to deal with the Liang family, it would be effortless.
As Liang Siyuan left, Liang Qibin caught up at the door.
Though the adults deliberately avoided discussing these matters in front of the children, Liang Qibin, a precocious boy, sensed the unusual atmosphere and quietly overheard their conversation.
"Second uncle."
Liang Siyuan’s face softened slightly when he saw Liang Qibin. "Qibin, what is it?"
"Second uncle, please apologize to my little aunt for me. My mother shouldn’t have done those things. I hope that from now on—"
He wanted to say he would never face his little aunt again, but the words stuck in his throat.
He liked his little aunt very much and didn’t want to stop seeing her.
