Chapter One Hundred: Serving the Young Master
Su Wan-ning was also overwhelmed by his corny sweet talk and simply took her wine glass to another table.
Over the past few days, she had discovered that the director was not as cold and stern as he appeared on the surface. In fact, he was a big boy with a heart devoted to art, sometimes displaying childishly innocent behavior.
She was fond of such a pure person, so she took the initiative to offer him a toast.
“Director, thank you for your patience these past days.”
The director smiled with a nonchalant air. “Thank you for your portrayal of the role. Oh, and I really like Nian Nian, that little one—such a natural talent.”
“Is that so? Then I’ll have to rely on your guidance for Nian Nian’s future career,” Su Wan-ning said, seizing the opportunity.
At that moment, a few people came over to toast the director. He took the chance to pull Su Wan-ning over and introduce her. “This is the new actor in our crew, Su Wan-ning. She’s excellent—her acting is impressive.”
The director introduced her, and Su Wan-ning was grateful, understanding that he was creating more opportunities for her. She took the initiative to toast the others as well.
After several rounds of drinks and as the meal drew to a close, Su Wan-ning found herself unwittingly drunk.
Fortunately, the venue was noisy enough that no one noticed her. Alone, she sat at a table a little apart from the crowd, trying to sober up.
Until footsteps approached from behind.
Her head ached so much that she couldn’t even summon the strength to turn. Her eyelids grew heavier and heavier, and even the slightest movement made her world spin.
All she could do was wait for Vincent to come fetch her.
The thought lingered dully in her mind as she closed her eyes and feigned sleep.
She didn’t expect someone to cast a shadow over her, the light above her face dimmed by a looming figure.
Without opening her eyes, feeling the presence unmoving for a long while, she assumed it was Vincent. Forcing herself to speak, she mumbled, “I can’t go on—take me back, quickly.”
She had never drunk so much before and had no idea how she’d behave when drunk. If she embarrassed herself in front of so many people, all her efforts to maintain her image would be wasted.
The next moment, the person finally acted. Eyes still closed, Su Wan-ning let herself be hoisted onto their shoulder.
At last, she was carried away from the noisy banquet hall. The surroundings became quiet, and she hung limply over the person’s shoulder, her last conscious thought marveling at how, despite Vincent’s slender appearance, he was unexpectedly strong.
Ten minutes later, Qin Jing-chen, having carried Su Wan-ning back to their room with one hand, glanced at the live-stream camera.
Viewers in the stream were dumbfounded to see their brother-in-law carrying Su Wan-ning back in such a state.
[What’s going on? Is this where the paywall kicks in?]
[Bring it on—I’ve got my seeds and bench ready.]
[Who would’ve thought the old married couple would still be so playful?]
Qin Jing-chen set Su Wan-ning on the sofa and explained in a calm voice, “It was the wrap party tonight. She had too much to drink.”
A wave of knowing emojis swept across the chat.
[Got it, brother-in-law, carry on, don’t mind us.]
[dddd]
But Qin Jing-chen remained impassive. “So I’ll be ending the stream for now.”
Ignoring the collective groans of the viewers, he told the cameraman to cut the feed and ushered everyone out.
The cameraman fled the room, leaving only the two of them inside.
Qin Jing-chen went to wash his hands, and when he returned, he found the room empty.
He frowned, about to search, when he sensed someone approaching from behind.
As he turned, a shadow loomed over him. Su Wan-ning practically toppled onto him, clutching him like an octopus, her legs wrapping around his narrow waist.
He staggered back, bumping his calf against the bed and falling onto it with her on top.
With a loud thud, their combined weight landed heavily on the mattress, yet the woman atop him remained fast asleep.
Su Wan-ning’s cheeks were flushed, her hands roaming freely over Qin Jing-chen’s body. She mumbled drunkenly, “I told you, there’s no need for all this. I’m… a decent person!”
Qin Jing-chen’s frown deepened as he tried to catch her mischievous hands, but she was uncommonly nimble. After several attempts, he not only failed to restrain her, but she inadvertently brushed against his body, sending his heart racing.
At last, unable to endure, Qin Jing-chen warned in a low, restrained voice, “If you don’t stop, I won’t be so polite.”
“Polite? Hmph, I paid for this—why should I be polite with you!” Su Wan-ning babbled, lost in some dream. Qin Jing-chen’s expression darkened further.
Finally, he caught her wrist and gritted out by her ear, “If you don’t move, I won’t leave tonight.”
They hadn’t shared a bed in years, not even living under the same roof.
Qin Jing-chen had thought he would spend the rest of his life with his desires locked away—yet unexpectedly, this woman had rekindled a dormant passion within him…
At this moment, Su Wan-ning, completely enveloped in drink, imagined an entire drama in her mind. On the wrap party’s night, she returned to her room to find a well-built man waiting on her bed.
This must be a benefit arranged by the crew!
Though she’d claimed not to be that kind of person, well…
With her free hand, she squeezed the firm muscles beneath her.
“All right, I admit I like you. Stay with me tonight, then.”
Qin Jing-chen’s body stiffened in shock. Staring down at the woman sprawled over him, he asked again, “What did you say?”
Growing impatient, Su Wan-ning, sticky with sweat from all the commotion, wriggled to pull off her clothes. “I said, tonight, serve me well…”
She kept muttering, “I want a bath!”
A flicker of emotion crossed Qin Jing-chen’s eyes. He gripped her shoulders a bit too tightly, but seeing her wince, he instinctively loosened his hold.
“Fine, I’ll run you a bath.”
Thus, the usually decisive and formidable President Qin, renowned in the business world, willingly went into the bathroom to prepare a warm bath for his drunken wife.
