"Never underestimate your opponent; that's the only way to remain invincible. You wouldn't understand. Oh, and I left some luggage in the hotel room—remember to have someone send it over."

After hanging up, Su Wan Ning got into the car waiting outside the airport. She hadn’t even returned to the production team before receiving a call from the delivery service, informing her that her luggage had already arrived.

Su Wan Ning found it odd, “So fast? I just asked someone to send it over.”

“Oh, it was a Mr. Qin who sent the package on your behalf. You can contact him to confirm.”

Su Wan Ning hung up, and it didn’t take much imagination to guess that Qin Jing Chen was the one who helped her with the luggage.

He was so considerate.

Yet, after last night, she not only shamelessly took advantage of him, but this morning she left without a word, slipping away as if nothing had happened. Compared to his thoughtfulness, she felt thoroughly unfair.

Sitting beside her, Nian Nian noticed the conflicted expression on Su Wan Ning’s face and asked, “Mommy, why did we leave so early today? I didn't even say goodbye to Daddy.”

“Oh, to avoid... I mean, to hurry back and see your friends. How about we call Daddy to say goodbye?”

“Okay!”

Su Wan Ning took out her phone, dialed Qin Jing Chen’s number, and without saying a word, handed the phone directly to the two children.

“Hello?” Qin Jing Chen’s pleasant voice came through the receiver, and for some reason, just hearing it made Su Wan Ning’s heart tremble.

“Daddy!” Nian Nian’s voice was crisp as she chatted with Qin Jing Chen for a while, then passed the phone to Sui Sui.

“I’ll give it to Mommy now.” Sui Sui, whose personality mirrored Qin Jing Chen’s, barely spoke before tossing the phone to Su Wan Ning.

Caught off guard, Su Wan Ning hesitated, unsure whether to speak or not. After struggling for a while, she finally forced herself to begin, “Um... haha, have you eaten?”

Qin Jing Chen didn’t respond immediately; the faint crackle of the phone line made the atmosphere awkward.

Su Wan Ning, usually quick-witted, wished she could bite off her own tongue.

“Um, my luggage has arrived. Thank you,” she said, embarrassed.

“It was nothing, just a small favor.”

This time, Qin Jing Chen replied quickly. The more polite and caring he was, the more guilty Su Wan Ning felt.

“Well, if there’s nothing else, I’ll—”

“Why did you leave so early this morning? Not even a goodbye?”

It seemed Qin Jing Chen noticed her attempt to escape and spoke up.

It was inevitable.

Su Wan Ning sighed. “I was in a hurry, so—”

“That’s fine. I thought you left without saying anything because you weren’t planning to take responsibility.”

His words completely petrified Su Wan Ning. She couldn’t even recall how the call ended, keeping the same expression all the way back to the production team.

He wants her to take responsibility? What does that mean?

All the way back, Su Wan Ning almost drove herself mad thinking about it. Unable to figure it out, she finally tossed the matter aside.

Wang Zan had long heard the news and was delighted at her return, assigning her a new cameraman for the livestream.

At noon, a special outdoor welcome party was held for her on the grasslands.

The children were the happiest about Su Wan Ning’s return, giving her family the best seats.

“Aunt Su, is filming fun?” Da Xi seemed curious about life on set.

Su Wan Ning picked a few amusing stories from filming to share, making the children laugh.

“By the way, I heard that while I was away, a new guest joined the show. Teacher Fang, I’ve long heard of your reputation—seeing is believing, you’re even more refined than I imagined.”

With a friendly smile, Su Wan Ning greeted the newcomer Fang Wei, but the response was indifferent.

“Hello.”

“Fang Wei has only been here a few days but is adapting well. But Su, you’re lucky—the show never threw a welcome party for Fang Wei, yet they did for you. The director truly favors you.”

Yin Shan Shan spoke with a smile from the side, her tone still tinged with sarcasm.

Su Wan Ning paid no mind, turning to greet the new child Xiao Tian.

“Hello, little gentleman!”

Xiao Tian seemed shy, and at Su Wan Ning’s words, he bashfully hid behind Fang Wei, gazing at her with wide eyes.

“Sorry, he’s a bit shy around strangers. He’ll warm up soon.”

Fang Wei was protective of her son and took the initiative to explain.

Su Wan Ning smiled and said nothing. The meal passed in a relatively harmonious atmosphere, and the director soon announced the next plan.

“As you all know, this trip is a reward from the show. To welcome our new guests and celebrate the return of old ones, we’ve decided on an RV camping activity!”

At the mention of RV camping, everyone grew excited—even Su Wan Ning felt her spirits lift.

“We’ll be traveling in that RV over there. The campsite is in another town, and everyone will need to drive themselves. We’re expected to arrive by sunset.”

Everyone’s eyes followed the director’s words to the white RV parked nearby.

From the outside, the RV looked impressive, but the thought of personally driving such a large vehicle until evening made everyone’s faces show a hint of fatigue and reluctance.

Tian Bo Yu was the first to speak: “I can drive. I have a license!”

“The journey is long and RVs are hard to handle. Everyone has an RV license, but one person can’t do it alone. It’s best to take turns.”

The director had already made plans, but the others remained silent.

Su Wan Ning glanced at Yin Shan Shan, who looked unconcerned, and Feng Rui Yu Xin, who was avoiding eye contact. She spoke up, “All right, I’ll take turns with him.”

With things settled, the others had no excuse to remain silent. Yet Fang Wei spoke up before Yin Shan Shan could, “I’ll take Yin Shan Shan’s place—she has an old injury on her waist and sitting for too long is uncomfortable.”

Yin Shan Shan didn’t object, instead smiling gratefully at her. “It’s true, old friends are the most considerate. Thank you.”

Feng Rui, nearby, looked on with envy; Su Wan Ning, however, was unimpressed.

She remembered Fang Wei from the book—a well-known pushover who had left the industry to return to her family because of her husband’s manipulative ways, with no opinions of her own.

If they were truly friends, would Yin Shan Shan really let her take her place?

“If we’re talking about injuries, who here doesn’t have one? If that’s the case, you’re the only one in good health. Why not take turns with Tian Bo Yu?”
