Chapter 101: Hot Tears, You Don’t Have to Leave Anymore (Please Keep Reading)
That night, Zhang Long called it a day.
Although he had only used two million from the Huiyin account to trade today, after several winning rounds and a few losing orders, he still came away with a modest profit of four hundred thousand. Not much, but not little either.
There were still four days left in the week. As long as the market grew more volatile, there would be chances to make more. No need to rush.
...
“Good morning, boss.”
At dawn, after a night of silence, in the spot trading department of Dingxin, Zou Ming greeted the director at first sight, a breakfast bag in his hand containing two tea eggs.
No steamed buns, no soy milk.
“Mm, good morning.”
The department director returned a smile. Just as he was about to pass by, he seemed to remember something. “Right, Zou Ming, keep an eye on that Mr. Zhang who opened an account here yesterday. This morning, urge him to link his bank account, and confirm how much he plans to deposit to activate it. Don’t forget.”
“Got it, boss.”
Zou Ming, dressed rather plainly and of a shy, introverted temperament, gave an awkward little smile. He would keep a close watch.
“All right, get to work.”
The director smiled again and headed to his office. He did not pay much attention to Zhang Long, who had come to the company yesterday to open an account. A man in his early twenties, dressed ordinarily, who had taken a taxi here—if he was going to play, it would not be with much money.
Yesterday he had asked how much Zhang Long planned to deposit for activation, but Zhang Long had simply brushed it off and said nothing. Judging from the look of things, he would probably only trade with a hundred or two hundred thousand at most. Good enough, I suppose.
Conveniently, Zou Ming did not have many clients to handle yesterday, so he had received Zhang Long and explained spot trading to him.
A small client, a fitting match for a struggler. Fine enough.
“Work hard, Zou Ming.”
The trading department had its own title system.
Outwardly, people were called teachers or managers and the like, but in truth most were just regular employees. One rank above ordinary staff was supervisor, and above that was manager.
If a regular advisor could not be promoted to supervisor within half a year, then it was basically goodbye.
And the most important basis for promotion was performance: client deposits and trading volume.
“Uh, I will.”
Zou Ming gave an embarrassed smile. Facing his colleague’s encouragement and well-wishes, he actually felt a little sheepish. If his performance did not meet the standard this month, he would be gone. He was in no position to be guiding anyone.
...
“Another one?”
At Dragon Manor in the Bund, Zhang Long got up, washed up, and sat down in front of the computer. In the stock-picking reports for today from several platforms such as HSBC and UBS, another stock had appeared that looked quite promising over the next two weeks. A pity.
He already had two stocks this week that were sure to make money. For the others, he needed to buy ones that would dip a little. Those were the easiest of all—he could hit them with his eyes closed.
Buzz, buzz...
A while later, the stock market opened. Zhang Long was busy buying a few shares when Huiyin sent an update.
In spot trading, whether going long or short, one could enter at almost any point on the chart. After all, the price would either rise or fall; if you got the direction right, you made money.
So spot platforms generally sent out a recommendation early in the morning, no matter where the entry point was.
Suitable for entry now, or watch a certain level for an opportunity, and so on. There was no need to chase after the information.
The platform only wanted the client to trade more.
“Damn, bad luck.”
Zhang Long glanced at Huiyin’s message. If he bought now, he would have to wait until after noon before taking profit. In other words, volatility would be weak during Tuesday morning.
Forget it. Even a mosquito leg is still meat. Besides, he still had to go to the bank in the morning to link the other two accounts.
If the volatility came later, he would not need to worry about missing a morning profit opportunity while handling his banking business.
“Okay, let’s go.”
After he finished operating several stock accounts and the Huiyin spot account, Zhang Long got up and left home for the bank near his residential compound. Handling spot third-party linkage would take some time. Filling out forms and the like was fine enough; the key was that the bank kept trying to block it.
He had to be firmer, or they would keep dragging him into opening bank gold investment products. Annoying.
That had happened the last time he linked the Huiyin account as well.
...
“Brother Zhang, have you reached the bank?”
At the Dingxin trading department, Zou Ming glanced at the time. It was almost ten o’clock. Taking a deep breath, he did not call directly, but first sent a message on Q Chat. If there was no reply within five minutes, he would call. His heart was pounding.
Although Zhang Long might not deposit much to activate the account, anything was still something. As long as he brought in two million in deposits this month plus a certain trading volume, that would be enough.
In other words: meet the performance target and avoid being eliminated.
“I just got here. I’ll handle it right away.”
Zhang Long did not keep Zou Ming waiting long. His phone was always on him, and he replied as soon as he saw the Q Chat message.
He still had some impression of Zou Ming. The young man was fair-skinned and decent-looking, but a bit too soft, too honest. Yesterday, when explaining spot trading, he had not tried to make decisions for the client or steer him in any way.
He had simply explained the market and the trading.
From a client’s perspective, that might be very good. But from the standpoint of the individual and the company, it was hard to develop performance.
At least as a front-line salesperson, he was a bit lacking.
“Oh, he’s going to make a deposit.”
At the Dingxin trading department, Zou Ming froze the moment he saw Zhang Long’s reply. So straightforward? The clients who had come to the office before were always making excuses and standing people up.
Just as his thoughts were returning and he was about to reply, a little head peeked over from beside him, and a colleague cried out in surprise.
“Cough, not yet.”
Zou Ming gave the colleague beside him an awkward smile, then began replying to Zhang Long, reminding him of the things to pay attention to when handling the third-party linkage.
His enthusiasm was sky-high, but reality was another matter.
Because Zhang Long did not reply again, the Q Chat window seemed to fall into silence. Something was off.
Time passed. Just as Zou Ming, after much hesitation, was deciding to make a call, Q Chat finally stirred.
“It’s done. All set.”
Zou Ming was stunned at once.
That smooth?
...
Runde, a spot precious-metals company.
This was the second spot-linked platform Zhang Long handled today. There was nothing difficult about it. The account linkage process was much the same as Huiyin’s. As long as the bank did not flat-out refuse to process it, everything was fine. Be firm, and it was done quickly.
He checked the time. It was already noon.
After a satisfying meal at a specialty restaurant by the entrance to his residential compound, he returned home. The third-party linkage procedures were now completed, and the remaining deposits to activate the accounts would be quick and easy, nothing troublesome.
The time window for spot deposits and withdrawals depended mainly on the bank linked to the corresponding account. There was no fixed rule.
Some closed at 5:00 p.m., others at 10:00 p.m., depending on the bank.
For Zhang Long, it made no difference. With his cheat-like advantage, as long as he did not act recklessly, he would basically never end up stuck in a losing position or facing a massive loss that required emergency capital.
For Dingxin and Runde, Zhang Long decided to deposit two million into each to activate them, and then start trading directly.
Even if he could still only predict three times a day in total, the market trend would be the same, and that would not be affected.
With three platforms, he would have a total of six million in starting capital this week. No matter which platform sent an operating suggestion, as long as he had made a prediction first, all three could be traded in sync.
The only differences would be slight discrepancies in the entry prices.
“Hah, deposit two million!”
Back home, Zhang Long did not hesitate. He directly opened the Dingxin trading software, deposited two million, then took a screenshot of the amount and threw it to Zou Ming on Q Chat, telling him to activate it.
Then he opened the Runde trading software and deposited another two million, sending the notification to the corresponding advisor.
Hurry up and activate it. He was waiting to play.
Ding ding, ding ding...
At the Dingxin trading department, Zou Ming was not at his desk. He was outside by the water dispenser, replacing the bottle. When Zhang Long made the deposit and sent the screenshot, along with the Q Chat message urging him to speed up the activation process, the notification sound was heard by a colleague nearby.
The colleague instinctively leaned over, moved the mouse, and hovered over the Q Chat icon. Zhang Long’s name flashed and flickered.
“Zou Ming, Zhang Long’s got a message.”
A pretty female colleague with a ponytail called out for Zou Ming to come back quickly, while clicking the icon. Zhang Long’s interface appeared. She moved her eyes over it, saw the incoming message clearly, and was instantly stunned.
“Holy hell, a two-million deposit?”
She swore aloud in shock.
“What two million?”
Right then, Zou Ming had just returned after changing the water. Confused, he looked at the female colleague, who seemed to have seen a ghost in broad daylight. Following her gaze, he looked at the computer screen and froze.
I must be dreaming. This has to be an illusion.
As Zou Ming muttered the thought to himself, he felt his nose sting all at once, and hot tears burst from his eyes.
A two-million deposit. He did not have to roll out the door.
