"It's all right now." Cheng Feng crouched down, looking at the girls who were still overwhelmed with terror, and spoke as gently as he could. "Don't be afraid, I'm here to rescue you."

His voice carried a natural warmth, which made one of the trembling students tentatively ask, "Are you really... here to save us?"

"That's right. You're safe now. We're from the Disaster Association," Cheng Feng softly reassured them.

He hadn't rushed to take them away because their mental states were at the brink of collapse; he needed to calm their nerves step by step.

Lin Xiaoqin was still sobbing. When she finally got a clear look at Cheng Feng, she asked uncertainly, "Are you... are you Cheng Feng from our class?"

Her clothes were disheveled and filthy, her delicate face streaked with tears, and her school uniform was dust-stained.

Cheng Feng didn't deny it; after all, they were indeed classmates.

Lin Xiaoqin immediately burst into fresh tears, clinging to his hand as though she had found her savior. Her pitiful face was full of desperate hope.

"Cheng Feng, please take me away, won't you? My mother is waiting for me at home. I don't want her to worry. Please... I'm begging you."

She had barely left home that day when she'd been struck and dragged into a dark alley. When she awoke, the other girls told her they had all been kidnapped by vampires.

She was her parents' only daughter—her mother and father were still waiting for her to return...

Faced with such a moving scene, Cheng Feng felt utterly helpless. He could only speak softly to comfort her: "It's all right. I'll take you out of here right now."

"But... but someone tried to escape before," another high school girl stammered, horror etched across her face as she recalled something dreadful. "And, and the vampire caught her. We saw her turned into a dried corpse right before our eyes. I'm scared... I don't dare try to run..."

A second girl, also paralyzed by fear, whispered meekly, "If... if the vampire comes back and finds us trying to escape, we'll be killed."

Cheng Feng's expression grew dark, his patience rapidly thinning. He detested those who held others back and had no time for these timid girls' hesitations.

"I'll only say this once," he snapped, standing up with growing impatience. "If you want to die, stay here. If you want to live, follow me!"

His words stunned the three girls into silence. Cheng Feng took Lin Xiaoqin's hand and started out, and though the others were still terrified, they weren't fools—they soon trailed after him.

Throughout it all, Liu Shiyu had watched silently, rather satisfied with how Cheng Feng handled things. She followed closely behind.

But as they were about to leave the wooden cabin, her face suddenly changed, and she stopped short.

Cheng Feng, leading the group, also halted, a sense of foreboding creeping over him. He caught the scent of more than a dozen vampires mingled thickly in the air, and the source was just outside the cabin.

Liu Shiyu's expression grew grave. "We're surrounded. Those two vampires only pretended to leave—this was a trap to lure us out."

"Trap or not, we have no choice but to break through," Cheng Feng replied, taking a deep breath and quickly regaining his composure. He told the girls to stay inside and not to run, then stepped out with Liu Shiyu.

Outside, under the heavy night, more than a dozen vampires now stood before the cabin. In the darkness, a host of scarlet eyes glowed; every one of them revealed their true forms, lips split to show fangs, veins bulging across their faces.

Both Cheng Feng and Liu Shiyu immediately noticed the vampire standing at the head of the group. He wore a long trench coat, his gaze icy and remote.

This leader was Wessek, a direct subordinate of the Blood Monarch Dracula, responsible for having his underlings capture humans to supply the underground auction hall.

"So you finally come out. The two of you had the nerve to tail me. Luckily, we returned early—caught you right in the act," sneered the man in the newsboy cap, who also revealed his vampire form, mocking Cheng Feng and Liu Shiyu.

Cheng Feng sneered right back. "Then your intelligence must be lacking. We followed you for ages and you didn't notice. If I were your boss, and you almost ruined everything, I'd kill you first."

"You—!" The man flushed with anger, glancing nervously at Wessek, afraid Cheng Feng's words might come true.

Wessek, however, seemed unfazed. He narrowed his crimson eyes, and his voice was cold and murderous. "You two must be demon hunters. How reckless. These women are meant for the underground auction! Since you've come to rescue them, you can leave your lives here!"

The underground auction?

Both Cheng Feng and Liu Shiyu realized they had stumbled upon something significant, but there was no time to dwell on it.

"Tear them to pieces!" Wessek's face twisted cruelly as he gave the order. The vampires behind him burst into laughter and surged forward, eager to devour Cheng Feng and Liu Shiyu.

Liu Shiyu's expression remained serene, undisturbed. A cluster of blue light particles, flickering like fireflies, gathered at her hands and solidified into a blade of ice—the Spirit Blade, Frost Moon.

With a breath, her dark eyes turned icy blue, and a tremendous aura radiated from her, freezing the vampires in their tracks.

Secret Art—Spirit Power Unleashed!

Only elite demon hunters could use this skill; once activated, they entered a battle state, all abilities heightened for over ten minutes.

"This woman is an elite demon hunter! Kill her!" Wessek was visibly surprised, but quickly barked an order, sending the vampires to attack Liu Shiyu.

Suddenly, a figure dashed forward—Cheng Feng, launching a punch straight at Wessek's face.

Bang!

Cheng Feng's blow, powered by Super Strength, smashed Wessek's face in, sending bloody teeth flying through the air.

Wessek was knocked back, but managed to land steadily, the blood on his ruined face congealing as his features rapidly healed.

"You bastard! Attacking me by surprise!"

He glared at Cheng Feng, who was already charging again, but then his expression shifted and a sly smile appeared. "Wait... you're... Elena's first chosen! To think I'd be so lucky to run into you! This is perfect! If I drink your blood—"

"Drink your damn—!" Cheng Feng cut him off with another punch.
