Paradise suddenly lifted the numbness status from all its travelers and immediately initiated a world boss battle. The world boss was none other than Shadow Bathed in Sunlight. During this boss battle, all participants would have their attributes boosted by fifty percent, but only for the duration of this fight.

Paradise travelers had the option to refuse, but the penalty was a staggering eighty percent reduction in gains from the next five worlds—a punishment no traveler would willingly accept.

Thus, the travelers erupted in collective fervor. Some busied themselves with setting up formations, while those wielding firearms took aim at Shadow Bathed in Sunlight, almost forgetting how they had previously been devastated when he used Equivalence.

Shadow Bathed in Sunlight picked up Justice and fired a shot at the travelers, then instantly stowed the weapon away to prevent it from being destroyed by the onslaught of attacks.

Yet there was no escaping; the relentless barrage tore into him, blood spraying in all directions. The travelers splattered by his blood suddenly turned pale, shouting to those around, “The world boss’s blood is poisonous—don’t let it touch you!”

After hearing this, the intensity of their attacks lessened slightly. This brief reprieve was enough for Shadow Bathed in Sunlight to recover. He drew Justice once more, fired a shot at those before him, then swiftly brought out Bribe and fired another shot at the travelers.

Bang!

Bullets from Justice and Bribe struck the tank closest to Shadow Bathed in Sunlight, leaving a massive dent in the tank’s shield and sending the defender flying.

The second wave of attacks immediately followed. Shadow Bathed in Sunlight activated his first soul skill, Equivalence, once more. This time, however, he did not mark targets at random, but focused specifically on the tanks before him. The dense barrage of attacks once again engulfed him, reducing his body to minced flesh in an instant. Likewise, of the paradise travelers’ tanks, only three remained unmarked.

Now, with no shields left to stand in his way, nothing could prevent Shadow Bathed in Sunlight from slaughtering the spellcasters and gunners.

Without hesitation, he lunged at a mage. Though he had never studied any formal combat techniques—relying instead on blades or firearms—this did not mean he was any less lethal.

Pinning the mage to the ground, Shadow Bathed in Sunlight bit down fiercely. Firing Bribe would require him to draw the weapon first, which meant a moment’s pause, but there was no such delay in a predatory bite. This had always been one of his favored tactics in a fight. Even if he couldn’t defeat his opponent outright, he would still tear off a piece of their flesh.

But now, Shadow Bathed in Sunlight was fundamentally different. Every cell in his body was laced with poison—not an ordinary toxin, but a deadly venom, each strain having survived by devouring all others, the poison of poisons. With a single bite, the mage, his constitution too frail, succumbed instantly to the venom.

The moment his victim died, Shadow Bathed in Sunlight leapt toward his next target. Some travelers managed to sever his limbs with sharp weapons in an instant, but just as quickly, he regenerated them, and marked his assailant in return.

Others tried to restrain him, but the moment any limb was seized, he would mark the captor, then fire a shot into the captured limb...
