Chapter 54: The Treasure Pavilion (Part Two)
As Mu Yang approached the entrance, a young girl stepped forward and asked, "Are you here to attend the Treasure Appreciation Gathering, esteemed Soul Master?"
Mu Yang nodded, then handed the card given to him by Elder Mu to the girl before him.
Upon seeing the card, her expression softened further. She said, "Please follow me, esteemed Soul Master." With a graceful gesture, she led the way ahead.
Stepping into the Treasure Pavilion, Mu Yang was immediately enveloped by an atmosphere of opulence. The golden hall was as lavishly decorated as the imperial conference chamber, yet it exuded a grander, more imposing aura. If the imperial chamber imparted a sense of tranquility, then this golden hall was purely extravagant.
Luxury radiated from every corner of the golden hall, the entire space illuminated brightly by the grand crystal chandelier hanging overhead.
The girl in the white dress guided them up the gilded staircase to the second floor of the Treasure Pavilion.
Compared to the first floor, the second floor was far quieter. Though it seemed scattered at first glance, every display booth was positioned in the most logical and prominent spots. Each booth was encased in a large crystal glass cover, and inside stood various items upon their pedestals.
The girl halted. "Welcome, honored guest, to the Treasure Appreciation Gathering at the Treasure Pavilion. The gathering is held here on the second floor, so please feel free to browse. If you find an item to your liking, head to the west side to register your interest. Your invitation card allows you to select one treasure for free from the Pavilion each year, and every item you purchase will be offered to you at half price."
Mu Yang nodded and began his search. Though many details of Douluo were hazy in his memory, the events within the Treasure Pavilion lingered vaguely.
Among the myriad treasures, Mu Yang initially thought it would be nearly impossible to find something truly useful to himself. Yet soon enough, a particular item struck him like a slap across the face.
An Eighth-Level Soul Engineer's Journal—according to its description, it contained detailed instructions on crafting soul tools from the first to the eighth level, as well as methodologies for learning. (Note: "all" here refers to all methods known by this particular soul engineer, not every method in existence.)
The price: one and a half million gold soul coins. Mu Yang had only two hundred thousand gold soul coins on him, so the Eighth-Level Soul Engineer's Journal became another option among the items he could select.
After browsing further, nothing else truly caught Mu Yang's eye. Soul bones were too low-level, wasting their properties, and those over a hundred thousand years old mostly had soul skills that were impractical.
However, one item did draw Mu Yang's attention—a sixth-level soul tool named the Frost Necklace. Its ability was to assist ice-type soul masters in their attacks. If all the soul power within the Frost Necklace was used in one go, its amplification effect would increase dramatically. It would be perfect for handing to the Snow Empress.
Its price was three hundred and fifty thousand gold soul coins, which, with the discount, Mu Yang could afford.
Soon, Mu Yang purchased the items he desired.
As he walked out of the Treasure Pavilion, he muttered to himself, "Money comes quickly, but leaves just as fast. Xiao Hei, do you think sister will like this gift? I hope she does."
"Meow." The Night Cat Demon in Mu Yang's arms responded, then continued to nestle quietly in his embrace.
After walking for a while, Mu Yang sensed the presence of combat not far away—a distinct streak of light flashed across his vision...
