Chapter 78: Transcendence

Ma Xiaotao lay quietly on a luminous, jade-white bed. Yet her face remained deathly pale, and from time to time a faint black mist flickered across her features. Muyang accepted both tasks without hesitation. With his strength, completing them was within reach, though protecting the world line seemed nearly impossible. The chaos caused by Paradise Travelers was evident—just look at the previous world for proof.

"I never expected to be transported into the world of Tokyo Ghoul. I can't tell if this is good fortune or bad. I wonder what identity the world consciousness has arranged for me. Hopefully, it's someone close to Ken Kaneki; that would make it easier to protect him," Muyang murmured to himself.

"Host, although the world consciousness has helped by implanting false memories in Ken Kaneki, it has not provided any official documentation such as an identity booklet; you will need to resolve this yourself," the system’s voice sounded.

"Muyang, what are you spacing out for? Hurry up, or we'll be late!" At that moment, Ken Kaneki waved at Muyang before running off toward a certain place.

By the time Muyang snapped back to reality, only Kaneki's shadow remained.

"A classmate of Kaneki's? That works out well," Muyang remarked.
