At that very moment, another figure leapt down from above: Sota.

“I can’t just let people ruin my plans so easily,” Sota said with a smile.

In the same instant, he unleashed the quinque in his hand and charged the Paradise Transmigrators. Of course, they were not easy prey either, but Sota’s stats were those of a boss; in both raw power and skill, he far surpassed these rookie arrivals from Paradise.

With blades clashing, the battle that had been on the verge of erupting instantly began in earnest.

Before one of the Paradise Transmigrators could even react, Sota beheaded him in a single stroke. Then, switching to his next target, he was already locked in combat. Besides Mu Yang, there were also some Paradise Transmigrators hiding in the shadows; some of them wanted to wait for the perfect moment and strike Sota a fatal blow.

And when those hidden in the dark saw the fighters in the open being attacked, some of them rushed out on their own. Mu Yang could only think: incredible. Sota is an one-eyed ghoul, after all. You haven’t even forced out his kagune and you’re already rushing him? Do you really think you’re a berserker, needing some kind of creed to fight by?

You haven’t even unlocked the boss’s second phase and you’re already charging in? Or do you start by popping your ultimate right away? By the time the boss enters phase two, you’ll have no skills left to use. At that point, you’re just getting beaten to a pulp.

The Paradise Transmigrators were also revealing some of their hidden cards, which managed to keep Sota in check, at least for a moment.

“So you’re not just a bunch of worthless CCG rejects after all. But that’s about all there is to you,” Sota said. Then the scaled kagune on his back erupted once more, sweeping across the Paradise Transmigrators and scattering many of them.

“Little mice hiding in the dark, come out together. Otherwise, I’ve already memorized all your scents. Run one, and I’ll chase one,” Sota said.

At those words, nearly every Paradise Transmigrator hidden in the shadows stepped out.

Seeing that number, Sota could not help but curl his lip. “So many mice. Catching you all is going to be a bit of a hassle.”

Magic, melee weapons, and firearms all rained down on Sota. Once again, his kagune swept out to block the assault.

But this time, the Paradise Transmigrators were smarter. Several tanks raised their shields to withstand the kagune’s sweep, though it must be said that Sota was formidable; that earlier sweep had already shattered the shields of several tanks.

After all, the rookie Paradise Transmigrators did not possess especially fine weapons to begin with, and the tanks’ shields were no exception. Though more durable than ordinary weapons, they still suffered from wear and tear under repeated protection. And because tanks were the easiest to target, their shields were the most heavily consumed gear in the early game.

Just as Sota and the Paradise Transmigrators were trading blows back and forth, a man suddenly appeared behind him with a dagger, aiming to stab him in the back. But he had underestimated him.

Sota instantly abandoned his current attack, and the kagune erupted again, piercing straight through the man’s chest.

“If you’re going to attempt a sneak attack, at least use some strategy. I don’t know how you got behind me so quickly, but you made too much noise,” Sota said on.
