Chapter Thirty-Four: Taking Action to Resolve the Matter!
“Big Brother, it’s him, he’s the one who hit me!”
Through the crowd, Blondie could be seen approaching, accompanied by a burly man. Blondie’s right hand, which had been crushed, was now wrapped in bandages; this time, he was here to seek revenge against Xiao Ye and his companions.
“Brother, it’s those rent collectors!”
Suddenly, Chen Long’s little sister’s eyes filled with fear, and she quickly hid behind him.
Xiao Ye’s gaze remained calm as he looked at the crowd bearing down upon them. Only now did he finally understand what Blondie meant by ‘rent collectors’ earlier. Chen Long’s family had been forced to live beneath a bridge, and even so, they still had to pay these people! The injustice was unbearable.
His fists clenched, muscles taut, and his eyes burned with murderous intent as he looked at Blondie and his men.
At that moment, Blondie and his big brother led their group over, surrounding Xiao Ye and his friends.
“Kid, so it was you, huh? You crushed my brother’s hand!”
Blondie’s big brother stormed over, an outrageously thick gold chain swinging from his neck.
“Xiao Ye, run! I’ll hold them off for you!”
Seeing the situation, Chen Long immediately jumped forward to shield Xiao Ye. Even after all these years, Chen Long’s loyalty remained his instinctive response.
“Don’t worry, Long, I’ll deal with these people myself.”
Xiao Ye pulled Chen Long behind him, his icy gaze swept across the crowd, his murderous intent unmistakable.
“What the hell are you staring at? I’m talking to you!”
The dragon-and-tiger-tattooed man in front of Xiao Ye shouted angrily, then jabbed his finger at the ground before him.
“Get over here now, kneel down, and clean the soles of my shoes with your tongue. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being ruthless!”
Yang Zhenxi was having a rotten day—he’d stepped in dog shit as soon as he left the house. Even the lowest of the low in his territory dared to defy him, and one had even injured his little brother! Furious, Yang Zhenxi had to vent his rage on Xiao Ye.
Blondie and his brother sneered, and their underlings burst into laughter, eyeing Xiao Ye as though they were hunting prey.
Their words did not move Xiao Ye. He stepped forward, his gaze cold, his face impassive, and then he spoke.
“Move aside, or die.”
A few simple words, but the murderous aura emanating from Xiao Ye was unmistakable.
“What did you just say?”
“We’ll kill you!”
His words elicited only angry roars from Blondie and his men.
“Kid, if you’re so tough, come over here—I'll beat you so badly your own mother won’t recognize you!” Yang Zhenxi shouted.
Hearing this, Xiao Ye moved, striding directly toward him.
“Xiao Ye, don’t!”
Chen Long’s eyes filled with worry. The other side had so many people; Xiao Ye alone couldn’t possibly take them all.
“So you really dare come over here, huh?”
Yang Zhenxi sneered, stepping forward.
“Good, since you’re here, don’t think about leaving. You—”
Smack!
A loud slap rang out; before Yang Zhenxi could finish his sentence, Xiao Ye struck him across the face. In an instant, Yang Zhenxi’s body twisted violently, sending him sprawling to the ground. His eyes filled with disbelief, and his hand instinctively pressed against his cheek.
“You dare hit me? You’re dead!”
Yang Zhenxi sprang up, throwing a punch at Xiao Ye’s face.
But in that moment, another thunderous sound erupted. The crowd saw a shadow fly through the air.
Bang!
With a heavy thud, Blondie’s big brother crashed to the ground, his vision blurred, his fate uncertain.
“Brother!”
Seeing his big brother sent flying, Blondie was shocked. Xiao Ye had managed it with just two slaps; his brother hadn’t even been able to withstand them!
Now, Xiao Ye stood before them like a god of war.
Chen Long, watching from behind, was astonished—he hadn’t expected Xiao Ye to possess such strength!
“Everyone, get him!”
Blondie shouted, and his men charged at Xiao Ye, fists raised.
Just then, several luxury cars sped toward them, unhesitatingly ramming toward Blondie’s group. Startled, Blondie and his men scattered.
From the cars, a group of armed men stepped out, led by Red Dragon himself.
“Anyone moves, and I’ll smash their knees!”
A simple sentence, but everyone’s faces changed immediately.
Seeing Red Dragon holding a weapon, Blondie’s eyes filled with suspicion and wonder—what kind of person was Xiao Ye?
But before they could figure it out, Xiao Ye moved again. This time, instead of approaching the hostile crowd, he turned and walked toward Chen Long and his family.
“All right, Long, let’s go.”
“Xiao Ye, when did you become so incredible?”
Chen Long stared wide-eyed at Xiao Ye, amazed at his newfound strength.
“Heh, these years, you’re not the only one who’s changed.”
There was a trace of melancholy in Xiao Ye’s eyes. If he could, he’d trade all his skills to restore his family.
Soon, Xiao Ye and his group climbed into Red Dragon’s car and withdrew under cover.
Watching them leave, Blondie couldn’t help but shout furiously, “Damn it! Kid, next time, don’t let me catch you!”
His eyes burned with rage, shocked that Xiao Ye had escaped so easily.
But Xiao Ye and his companions paid them no mind, heading home as soon as they got into the car.
“Lord Xiao, where are we going now?”
Red Dragon’s question sent Blondie into renewed shock. Lord Xiao? What was Xiao Ye’s true identity?
“Find a place to settle them first.”
“Yes, sir!”
At Xiao Ye’s command, Red Dragon quickly got to work.
Before long, Red Dragon found a stand-alone villa. At first sight, Chen Long’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“Xiao Ye, is this real? Are you really giving us such a big place to live?” Chen Long asked incredulously.
“Don’t worry, this will be yours from now on, and you won’t have to pay rent,” Xiao Ye replied with a smile.
After hearing this, Chen Long’s eyes reddened with emotion. After so long, good fortune had finally returned to them.
“Rest assured, things will only get better from here,” Xiao Ye said softly.
That day, Xiao Ye not only gave Chen Long and his family a new home but also took them out for a meal and a stroll. Such simple pleasures—yet for Chen Long’s family, it had been five years since they’d enjoyed them, and all because of Xiao Ye’s past mistakes.
“Hmph, once I find the people who hurt you, I’ll break their legs myself!”
With this resolve, Xiao Ye’s eyes flashed coldly.
Those who crippled Chen Long and drove his family onto the streets must have acted on the orders of the Four Great Families; otherwise, they would never have ended up like this.
