The Red Ghost instantly realized what had happened—the last man had also been crippled. Clenching his fists, he cursed under his breath, “Useless! Couldn't even handle one man.”

His anger flared, fueled even more by Xiao Ye’s overwhelming strength.

By the time the Red Ghost reached the two fallen men, one was already drenched in cold sweat, convulsing on the ground, while Xiao Ye had withdrawn from his side.

“These ten men have all been dealt with. Now, can I ask you some questions?” Xiao Ye steadied himself, his gaze confident as he looked at the agitated Red Ghost.

“You dog, always hiding and skulking about. Do you really think someone like you deserves an answer from me?” The Red Ghost spat on the ground, regarding Xiao Ye with icy disdain.

“You have your rules, but I have my own methods. Surely, you can’t be dissatisfied with that?” Xiao Ye continued to smile, his eyes never leaving the Red Ghost.

Suddenly, the Red Ghost burst into laughter, holding his face with one hand, nearly breathless from the fit. Xiao Ye watched him with curiosity, about to ask a question when the Red Ghost abruptly spoke.

“The Chief was right—you really are something else.”

The Red Ghost coughed violently, laughing so hard he seemed on the verge of passing out. Xiao Ye, intrigued, waited to see what he would do next.

“The God of War from the Western Territories truly lives up to his name. No wonder you have so many mighty warriors under your command.” These words instantly set Xiao Ye on edge.

“Where did you get that information?” Xiao Ye demanded coldly.

The Red Ghost’s laughter ceased abruptly. “If you want to know, come and take it yourself!” With that, he lunged straight at Xiao Ye.

Something about the Red Ghost’s aura felt off to Xiao Ye—unpredictable, fluctuating between strength and weakness.

He’d only noticed it since stepping onto the stage, since they had not fought before. Though the Red Ghost was the strongest among his group, he couldn’t so much as graze Xiao Ye, let alone gain any advantage.

The longer the fight continued, the more Xiao Ye sensed the Red Ghost’s energy was chaotic and disordered.

For a long stretch, every time the Red Ghost approached, he was struck down; he had no other fate but injury.

Sweat soaked through his clothes, dripping onto the ground. He looked at Xiao Ye with exhaustion flickering in his eyes.

“This can’t go on. If I keep this up, he’ll toy with me until I’m spent and dead,” the Red Ghost thought anxiously. Xiao Ye still seemed full of vigor, capable of fighting much longer.

The Red Ghost's gaze locked onto the two men collapsed nearby. They lay groaning, their wounds throbbing with agony, gasping for breath in misery.

“At this point, I can’t hide it anymore. You two will become my strength, part of my body.” Gritting his teeth, the Red Ghost dashed toward Xiao Ye.

But Xiao Ye, unafraid, feinted before rushing toward the two men on the ground—only then realizing the Red Ghost’s true target was them.

He reached their side quickly. The two, thinking the Red Ghost had come to rescue them, never expected they were taking the first step into hell.

The Red Ghost crouched and sank his teeth into one man’s neck. The man, powerless to resist, could only stare as his life ebbed away.

He couldn’t utter a sound. The Red Ghost tore open his throat like a wild beast, drinking greedily from the spurting blood.

Even Xiao Ye was shocked by the scene—the Red Ghost was no longer just like a beast; he was a beast incarnate.

How he possessed such monstrous jaw strength to tear open a man’s throat was beyond comprehension.

Not all the blood found its way into the Red Ghost’s mouth; much of it splattered across his clothes and body, rendering the scene even more horrifying.

One victim was not enough. The Red Ghost turned to the other man, who had no means to defend himself, and met the same grisly fate.

Blood gushed forth, instantly dyeing the ground red, some of it even flowing to Xiao Ye’s feet. He had never before witnessed such savagery.

Now the Red Ghost’s eyes burned scarlet, no trace of humanity left in his expression—he moved with the instincts of a beast, though his mind remained sharp.

Drinking blood was merely to excite him. The true essence he sought was mixed within, and as he consumed it, his power began to surge.

In that instant, Xiao Ye sensed the monstrous strength swelling within the Red Ghost.

Because the Red Ghost’s back was to him, Xiao Ye did not see the full horror of what happened—he only assumed the blood-drinking had increased his power.

When the Red Ghost stood again, his lips and teeth were stained crimson. He licked at them for a long time, but the color would not fade.

His appearance was now even more terrifying; his muscles flushed red, veins bulging and pulsing, as if he were an athlete pumped full of stimulants.

“Xiao Ye! Now, you’ll pay for your arrogance!” the Red Ghost roared, smearing the blood in his hands through his hair.

Once more, the two clashed violently. This time, the Red Ghost’s aura was even more chaotic, his surging power teetering on the brink of madness, driving him relentlessly toward Xiao Ye.

He leapt and hurled a punch at Xiao Ye with all his might. Xiao Ye raised both arms above his head, blocking with all his strength.

Though he managed to intercept the blow, the force was so great that the platform beneath his feet began to crack.

Even so, Xiao Ye held his ground, and the Red Ghost, still airborne, twisted his body and kicked at Xiao Ye’s abdomen.

Fortunately, Xiao Ye was no novice—quick as lightning, he countered with a kick of his own, meeting the attack head-on. The collision of their strikes shook the entire platform, making the wooden boards creak and groan.

Both were forced back dozens of steps, coming to a halt at the arena’s edge.

“See, Xiao Ye? This is the gap between you and me!” the Red Ghost shouted, his eyes blazing as he hammered his chest with his fists in excitement.

To his surprise, Xiao Ye only smiled faintly, leaving him momentarily stunned.

“Did you really think I came here just to fight you? Take a look around you,” Xiao Ye said, spreading his arms. The Red Ghost, bewildered, reached out with his senses.
