Chapter Seventy-Six: All It Takes Is a Finger
Hearing what Mouse said, Xiao Ye only gave a faint smile and spoke to Mouse behind him. The only noticeable change was that the murderous aura around him was condensing more and more intensely.
While the two conversed, Ye Gang interrupted, raising his voice once again. “Alright, I’ll give you one more chance. If you kneel and apologize right now and hand over the five million to me, the two of you can crawl away immediately!”
Ye Gang’s expression grew even more arrogant, his words now utterly unrestrained.
Hearing this, Zhang Hao also spoke up. “No need to waste words with him, Young Master Ye. As soon as I make a move, he’ll be dead for sure!”
Zhang Hao’s expression was vicious to the extreme. He was cracking his knuckles, eager to tear Xiao Ye limb from limb right this instant.
Xiao Ye had long grown accustomed to threats, but it was the first time he’d encountered two people so brazen before him.
“The five million is right here. If you want it, come and get it yourself.” Xiao Ye smiled indifferently, hooked his finger, and made a taunting gesture at Zhang Hao.
Zhang Hao was still young after all. With just a single sentence from Xiao Ye, he immediately lost his temper.
“You really have a death wish!”
Looking at Xiao Ye, flames seemed to blaze in Zhang Hao’s eyes, almost tangible, and his voice grew hoarse with rage.
In contrast, Xiao Ye remained calm. Knowing that a fierce battle was inevitable, he silently raised a single finger at the pair. “Since you’re so skinny, I’ll let you hit me first.”
Zhang Hao cracked his knuckles, the sound chilling to the bone. Yet Xiao Ye only shook his head gently and uttered something that left everyone dumbfounded.
“One finger. I’ll only use one finger.”
The moment these words left his lips, Ye Gang and Zhang Hao were both stunned, then burst out laughing. Even the onlookers were amused. Anyone could see that Zhang Hao was no ordinary man—could he really be defeated with a single finger? What a joke.
“Buddy, is there something wrong with your head?” Ye Gang laughed so hard he could barely breathe, wiping tears from his eyes as he addressed Xiao Ye.
“It’s fine, Young Master Ye. Let him show off. When I rip out his guts later, it’ll be even more satisfying!” Zhang Hao sneered.
Xiao Ye beckoned with his finger, and Zhang Hao’s mocking demeanor turned grim.
“What are you waiting for, Zhang Hao? Kill these two for me!” Ye Gang shouted.
At his command, Zhang Hao’s figure exploded forward, charging straight at Xiao Ye and Mouse.
“Fine. Make sure you can handle this punch!” Zhang Hao’s massive frame vanished from his original spot the moment he finished speaking. In the blink of an eye, he was right in front of Xiao Ye.
“For someone so large to have such agile speed—he can’t be an ordinary person!” Among the crowd were many martial artists, and they could instantly tell Zhang Hao’s presence was extraordinary.
“That’s it, Zhang Hao! Kill him for me and I’ll reward you handsomely!” Ye Gang yelled, growing manic with excitement at Zhang Hao’s performance.
Just as Zhang Hao’s fist collided with Xiao Ye’s finger, an oppressive force erupted from the point of contact, leaving everyone unsteady on their feet.
“Trying to show off in front of me? I’ll cripple you first!” Ye Gang gritted his teeth, suppressing the urge to kneel.
But before he could finish, something utterly shocking happened.
Xiao Ye stood unmoved, holding up his finger, yet Zhang Hao was sent flying, perfectly straight, through the air.
The right arm that had just met Xiao Ye’s finger now hung limp, broken in several places, twisted at unnatural angles like a puppet’s limb.
The thought “Impossible!” flashed through everyone’s mind.
“With just one finger, he crippled Zhang Hao’s right arm?”
“What kind of monster is this?”
All eyes were fixed on Xiao Ye, perfectly unharmed, bloodshot veins beginning to show in their eyes.
That single finger had shattered not only Zhang Hao’s arm, but also the crowd’s deeply held sense of reality.
Most stunned of all was Ye Gang himself. He’d just paid one hundred thousand for this hired thug. How could a single move, a single finger, break his arm?
Ye Gang drew a sharp breath, his subconscious screaming at him to flee, but his body felt petrified, his blood frozen, unable to move a muscle.
“Well? Didn’t you want the money?” Xiao Ye frowned slightly, taking a step in Ye Gang’s direction.
“Don’t get cocky. One day I’ll see you dead!” Ye Gang could only threaten, his voice dragging him back to reality, before he stumbled away in panic, fleeing in the direction he’d come.
Zhang Hao now lay on the ground, terror overwhelming the pain. In his mind, Xiao Ye was, at most, a little stronger than the average person. Never did he expect this man, who had seemed like a braggart, to actually break his arm with a single finger!
In Zhang Hao’s mind, alongside his anger, a twinge of regret unexpectedly surfaced.
Xiao Ye approached him slowly, about to speak, but Zhang Hao interrupted, “I warn you, don’t touch me! I’m a disciple of Dragon Tiger Mountain! If you kill me, my master and the others will never let you off!”
Zhang Hao’s eyes were wide, his words barely coherent. He thought that, having revealed his identity, this man would not dare lay another hand on him.
But before he could finish, Xiao Ye’s foot came crashing down.
At that instant, the pain surged and exploded in his mind, nearly splitting it open. His once-intact arm was shattered into several pieces under Xiao Ye’s force.
Zhang Hao’s eyes bulged, blood filling their whites. A howl of agony burst from his mouth, and all sensation left his hands except for pain. Cold sweat poured from him as though he’d been pulled from water.
Sweat mixed with tears, and even his teeth chattered. But Xiao Ye had no intention of letting him go. Just as he was about to continue, Zhang Hao suddenly moved his lips and spat something out!
Xiao Ye reacted instantly, leaping back several steps to dodge the hidden weapon Zhang Hao had concealed in his mouth—a trick Xiao Ye hadn’t anticipated.
Before he could react further, Zhang Hao had scrambled to his feet and bolted.
Xiao Ye paused, but chose not to chase. He’d already obtained what he came for and was ready to leave.
Unexpectedly, the surrounding crowd surged forward, blocking his path. Several street punks grabbed his hands, begging him to accept them as disciples.
“Master, please, you must take me as your student!”
“Master, never mind them, my constitution is better than theirs, you have to take me as your disciple!”
With a few words, these ruffians began fighting among themselves, and while they bickered, Xiao Ye and Mouse slipped away.
