Wang Mengde still maintained his earlier posture. His bodyguards, whom he had brought with him, had not even reacted before that figure had already reached the center of the reception hall.

Without the slightest pause, the figure lifted a foot and drove it straight into Wang Mengde’s body.

The next instant, Wang Mengde’s entire body was sent flying through the air.

When the figure finally came to a stop, the newcomer was none other than Xiao Ye.

With a thunderous crash, Wang Mengde slammed into the southern wall of the reception hall, then struck the floor face-first with a heavy impact.

Blood quickly spread across his face.

He rolled over and tried to sit up, his throat already convulsing.

But Xiao Ye’s attack came again, hot on its heels.

Another kick.

Wang Mengde was knocked away once more, sent skidding in the opposite direction, his back smashing into the wall again.

Those two consecutive blows had fractured three of his ribs, broken the roots of several teeth, torn the muscle in his thigh, and left him with multiple bruises in the soft tissue.

The scream he had not yet managed to unleash finally burst out.

Wang Mengde clutched his face and wailed miserably; the sound was no exaggeration to call a pig’s death cry.

The employees present stood frozen, their mouths hanging open.

A few who could not bear to listen even frowned and covered their ears.

The bodyguards were even slower to react, their mouths gaping wide.

Clearly, none of them had ever imagined anyone would dare lay hands on Wang Mengde.

“Who are you, exactly?”

Wang Mengde had curled himself into a ball, blood still seeping from his chin and dripping through his fingers.

The pain of his shattered teeth made his words thick and indistinct.

Xiao Ye looked at him coldly, but did not pursue him further. Instead, he walked straight over to Qin Xueer.

Aside from being frightened, Wang Mengde had not caused Qin Xueer any real harm.

The roar just now had finally drawn the bodyguards behind him, and someone at last snapped back to his senses and began moving toward Xiao Ye.

“Kill him for me!”

Wang Mengde bellowed. The bodyguards immediately charged.

Xiao Ye did not take them seriously at all. He lightly touched Qin Xueer’s head, then suddenly turned and sprang upward, his whole body leaping into the air.

At once, the bodyguards behind him rushed in.

Three or four fists the size of sandbags, wrapped in fierce gusts, swept straight toward Xiao Ye’s body.

Just as everyone thought the attack was about to land, Xiao Ye’s figure vanished from where he stood.

The next second, he was suddenly behind them.

At such speed, not even those trained in martial arts could react in time, let alone a few bodyguards.

Xiao Ye naturally wanted to draw them away from Qin Xueer. Though they were no match for him, Qin Xueer did not have his level of skill to protect herself. If she were injured in the slightest, would that not be more loss than gain?

The bodyguards instantly turned and charged at him again.

To be fair, they were somewhat stronger than ordinary men; their posture alone showed as much.

But against Xiao Ye, they still had very little chance of winning.

Fists and kicks came at him in one wave after another, yet Xiao Ye showed no fear, standing there with his hands clasped behind his back.

Just as the bodyguards in front were about to strike him, a blur suddenly appeared around Xiao Ye’s body.

In the next instant, the three bodyguards at the front were sent flying with a sharp cry.

The sound of their bodies crashing to the floor mingled with a crisp crack, leaving the onlookers bewildered.

They could not understand where that sound had come from.

Only after they saw the several arms bent at grotesque angles did they finally react.

Xiao Ye’s speed had actually surpassed the speed of their own eyes at such a short distance.

It was truly unbelievable.

Everyone sucked in a sharp breath; all mouths opened as wide as they could, their arms and eyes trembling slightly.

With Xiao Ye’s arrival, the atmosphere in the room instantly turned murderous.

Not only the employees, but even the bodyguards behind them, seeing their companions flung away in such a manner, felt their legs weaken.

These were three living, breathing adult men. How could Xiao Ye have casually hurled them aside like that?

The remaining bodyguards knew full well that with just the few of them, there was no chance of defeating the man before them.

But in the present situation, they had no choice but to stand their ground.

The temperature seemed to drop to freezing, and in their eyes the man before them appeared even more indifferent, and filled with killing intent.

Just as everyone stood dazed, Xiao Ye suddenly turned.

He was actually walking toward the employees.

The staff clustered around the office desk felt the oppressive pressure growing around him and very consciously made way.

Especially when Xiao Ye came up beside them, none of them dared even lift their heads.

While everyone was still bewildered, Xiao Ye reached the doorway and signaled for them to leave first.

The situation here was simply not suitable for these people to remain.

The employees understood at once, afraid that if they were even a moment late in leaving, and within less than three minutes, everyone in the room had exited the reception hall.

Before Qin Xueer’s secretary left, Xiao Ye specifically entrusted Qin Xueer to him.

Then he returned to the reception hall.

At the same time, the curtains in the room were suddenly drawn shut.

Under the company’s evacuation, not a single person dared to gather outside the reception hall and watch.

Xiao Ye walked in. The remaining two or three bodyguards still hoped to escape, but when they saw the man before them returning, even their last shred of hope was completely extinguished.

In less than three minutes, all those bodyguards had been killed, and dark red blood splattered across the entire reception hall.

The scene inside could be called nothing less than a hellscape.

Wang Mengde, lying off to one side, had no energy left to care about the pain in his own body.

What he saw before him had already filled him with utter terror.

Before his eyes lay more than a dozen corpses; the bodyguards who had just been at his side had, in the blink of an eye, lost all signs of life.

Wang Mengde panted heavily, inching backward bit by bit.

But the cold, hard wall behind him had also taken away his final hope.

Xiao Ye advanced toward him, unstoppable.

“Who exactly are you? Don’t come any closer!”

Wang Mengde trembled as he raised both hands, trying to block the man before him, who seemed like a demonic god.

The words burst from his mouth, his voice hoarse and pained.

But his only answer was a powerful hand seizing him and lifting him into the air.

Panic flashed through Wang Mengde’s eyes. His limbs twisted involuntarily in midair, and the pain from between his ribs made it even harder for him to breathe.

Xiao Ye’s gaze was cold, and he gave him no further chance to speak.

With a wet tearing sound, Wang Mengde’s chest was pierced clean through.
