Chapter Nine: Tidying Up Complete
"My leg!" The veins on Shangguan Yang’s forehead bulged, his face flushed red. The searing pain from his leg and the spreading blood caused panic to surge in his heart. Xiao Ye truly intended to kill him!
He flipped himself over, using both hands to drag his severely injured leg as he crawled desperately toward the restaurant’s exit.
But Xiao Ye had no intention of giving him any chance. Lifting his right foot high, he brought it down hard on Shangguan Yang’s thigh.
The dining knife, which had only pierced his leg before, now drove straight through, nailing it firmly to the floor. At the same time, the bones in his thigh shattered completely!
Annihilating pain flooded every inch of Shangguan Yang’s flesh and blood. He had hoped to retain some strength, but with this, his body was pressed flat against the ground, utterly unable to move.
His eyeballs turned crimson and even bulged slightly. The writhing of his body ceased, replaced by uncontrollable tremors that left his breathing ragged and intermittent.
The agony blurred his consciousness; such injuries far exceeded what he could endure.
Quivering, he summoned all his remaining strength to speak to Xiao Ye.
"Xiao Ye, listen to me, I am the eldest young master of the Shangguan family! If you kill me, my grandfather will never let you go!"
Shangguan Yang was unaware of the events that had transpired at the Tianxuan Grand Hotel. He still believed that the name of the Shangguan family was a talisman against death.
Hearing this, Xiao Ye said nothing. With a cold expression, he walked to Shangguan Yang’s other side.
He picked up another dining knife and, repeating his earlier actions, nailed the other leg to the floor as well!
A hoarse roar was forced from Shangguan Yang’s throat!
On the floor before him, saliva and blood mingled into an indistinguishable pool.
The surrounding waiters, terrified, fled the scene. It was as if they were witnessing a lion savagely hunting an antelope—a scene so wild and bloody as to be beyond anything they had ever seen.
Shangguan Yang’s female companion was petrified with fear, her legs giving way beneath her as she collapsed to the ground.
Shangguan Yang’s vision began to blur. In his daze, Xiao Ye loomed before him like a demon god.
All he could feel was terror; nothing else remained.
"Xiao Ye, please, I beg you to spare me! Everything before was my fault! I beg your forgiveness! Killing me will bring you nothing!"
At this moment, Shangguan Yang was a complete wreck, his face deathly pale, his mouth and nose submerged in his own blood, his breathing growing ever more labored.
Now, all Xiao Ye needed was a little patience, and Shangguan Yang would die right there.
Shangguan Yang’s bloodstained hand reached toward his own calf.
Before he could speak again, Xiao Ye spoke first.
"Apologize!"
"I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have insulted your mother or Qin Xue’er. I’m worse than a beast! Please, let me go, I don’t want to die!"
All of Shangguan Yang’s earlier arrogance was gone. Only the desperate instinct to survive remained, and he pleaded for his life.
Meanwhile, his only movable upper body forced his head again and again against the marble floor in abject kowtows.
Soon, his forehead was streaming with blood.
Yet, watching this, Xiao Ye’s eyes showed not the slightest trace of pity.
So this was all the Shangguan family amounted to.
In the space of a few moments, Shangguan Yang had knocked his head on the floor dozens of times. Just as he was about to do so again, Xiao Ye pressed his foot down on Shangguan Yang’s neck!
With a sudden surge of strength, the cold floor pressed against Shangguan Yang’s windpipe, causing his face to flush the color of fire.
His eyes bulged, bloodshot and on the verge of bursting.
He could not believe Xiao Ye would go back on his word.
"Save the rest of your kowtows for the underworld!"
Xiao Ye’s leg gradually increased its pressure. Shangguan Yang’s hands began to flail uncontrollably.
No matter how he struggled, he could not shake Xiao Ye in the slightest.
This was Xiao Ye’s punishment!
He wanted Shangguan Yang to experience, inch by inch, the reality of death in despair and agony.
As the pressure increased, Shangguan Yang’s awareness finally faded. His wildly thrashing hands, after several futile attempts, fell limply to the floor.
A crisp cracking sound rang out.
Shangguan Yang died on the spot.
"Brother Yang!" The woman Shangguan Yang had brought with him cried out, covering her mouth with both hands, her body trembling, tears in her eyes drowning out her terror.
The eldest young master of the Shangguan family—dead, just like that!
At this moment, Xiao Ye looked over at her, his cold gaze sweeping her way.
The woman shivered violently, the chill of death flooding her entire being.
"Red Dragon, clean up the scene."
Xiao Ye brushed the dust from his clothing and spoke to the man beside him.
"Yes!"
Red Dragon grinned menacingly, picked up a dining knife, and approached the woman.
"No, I have nothing to do with Shangguan Yang! He made me say those things!" Terror distorted her face as tears streamed down. She tried to flee.
But with Red Dragon’s skills, how could she hope to escape?
Xiao Ye pushed Qin Xue’er’s wheelchair and led Old Madam Li out of the restaurant.
Behind them came the woman’s earth-shattering screams.
...
About two hours later, at the Shangguan family estate.
A sack soaked in blood was quietly left at the entrance.
Such an object quickly attracted the attention of the family’s guards.
Curious, they opened the sack, only to find the lifeless body of the eldest young master, Shangguan Yang, inside.
"Quick, inform the master!"
...
News of the incident spread rapidly, soon gathering the entire Shangguan family at the estate.
Upon seeing Shangguan Yang’s body, the family patriarch, Shangguan Hongfei, felt as if lightning had struck him. He froze, barely able to breathe.
Shangguan Yang’s parents were even more distraught, nearly fainting at the sight of the corpse.
All the members of the Shangguan family drew sharp breaths; never in their lives had they witnessed such cruelty.
"Who was it that killed my grandson?"
Shangguan Hongfei’s emotions surged, his face flushed with rage as he slammed his cane to the ground, roaring in fury.
"Find out immediately! Bring me the murderer—I will have him torn limb from limb!"
Shangguan Hongfei shouted in a thunderous rage at those around him.
Just then, a guard stepped forward from the crowd, his expression grim.
"Master, I’ve found out who killed the young master. I brought back the surveillance footage from the restaurant!"
"Play it, now!"
Soon, a handsome young man’s face appeared on the screen. When Shangguan Hongfei saw it, he nearly fainted from rage.
The man in the video was none other than Xiao Ye, whom he had only just seen earlier that day at the Tianxuan Grand Hotel.
