Chapter 105: Successfully Infiltrated
Luo Chen sighed, “Yeah, this rain is really heavy. Honestly, I wasn’t much better off than you when I came back earlier.”
“Big deal!” Zhuo Yuqing cursed silently. Usually, when a boy sees a girl drenched in the rain, he’d either politely or with some ulterior motive invite her inside to wait out the storm, right? Especially a girl as beloved and admired as Zhuo Yuqing—everyone loves her, flowers bloom for her, and cars would gladly carry her. Could this guy really be that dense?
Feeling quite frustrated, Zhuo Yuqing put on a pitiful act. “Luo Chen, we’re friends after all. Look at how heavy this rain is. Couldn’t you do something to help me?”
“Uh, I almost forgot,” Luo Chen said, though he was puzzled by Zhuo Yuqing’s grim attitude the other day when they met. Still, seeing a girl outside getting soaked made him a bit embarrassed. “Of course. Zhuo Yuqing, please wait here.”
With that, Luo Chen went back into the dorm. Zhuo Yuqing was left wondering what on earth he was up to.
After a short while, Luo Chen came out again, holding an umbrella. “Zhuo Yuqing, take this umbrella back to your dorm. Oh, and remember my dorm number: Building 15, Room 210. If you have time, just return the umbrella another day.”
Zhuo Yuqing nearly spat blood. He was helping, yes, but this was not the kind of help she had imagined. The rain was pouring down, thunder flashing across the sky, and all he gave her was a single umbrella? Did he not have even a shred of chivalry? Worse still, he earnestly reminded her to remember to return the damned umbrella. Zhuo Yuqing once again experienced the full extent of Luo Chen’s stinginess—it surpassed even the rumors.
Many men wanted to give the lady something valuable, but this one? Zhuo Yuqing was furious just thinking about it.
In truth, with her strength, Zhuo Yuqing could easily shield herself from the rain using her “Light’s Protection” energy. She wasn’t even just coming back from outside. Her soaked appearance tonight had a hidden purpose.
She had been somewhat conflicted about Luo Chen’s celestial aura, but after witnessing his battle with Rafael at the training ground, her curiosity only grew. The celestial aura, his explosive power, double-layered energy techniques, solar energy, meteor strike, and divine attributes—all wrapped Luo Chen in a mysterious halo. Zhuo Yuqing couldn’t make sense of it no matter how much she thought about it. These past few days, it felt as if thousands of ants crawled incessantly inside her heart, making her itch unbearably. And finally, she decided Luo Chen was the only one who could soothe that itch—not in a literal way, but by uncovering the truth behind the mystery. Only then could she find peace; otherwise, she’d be tormented endlessly.
Determined to get to the bottom of it, Zhuo Yuqing eagerly awaited this storm to launch her new plan. Rafael had forced Luo Chen to reveal his true strength with his Furious Explosion Pill, but still, nothing concrete had been observed. So Zhuo Yuqing decided to focus on Luo Chen’s breathing energy—everyone’s breath energy was confined within their rooms, so she had to find a chance to sneak into Luo Chen’s dorm. Actually, she had already learned that he lived there tonight.
To sneak into his dorm, a flimsy umbrella wouldn’t suffice. Seeing Luo Chen’s cluelessness, Zhuo Yuqing was quite annoyed. Since meeting this guy, it seemed she was always the one chasing after him with warmth, while he remained cold and indifferent. It was extremely frustrating!
She forced herself to swallow that resentment and continued to play the pitiful girl. “Luo Chen, look at how heavy the rain is. This umbrella might—”
She glanced pointedly inside the dorm, hoping he’d get the hint.
Luo Chen slapped his forehead. “Right, you wait a moment.”
He went back inside and came out again, holding a larger umbrella this time. “Here, Zhuo Yuqing, this one should be big enough.”
Zhuo Yuqing nearly fainted. Complete idiot—this guy’s brain must be from another planet. His thinking was not human; no, he was practically a Martian!
Her hands trembled with anger. No, she couldn’t lose it now. She had to hold on. If not, all the soaking she’d endured would be for nothing, and her plan ruined.
Summoning all her strength to suppress her fury, she shamelessly said, “Um, if it’s okay, I’d prefer to come into your dorm for a bit, wait for the rain to ease, then head back. Is that alright?”
“Oh, that works too? Why didn’t you say so earlier?” Luo Chen replied, nearly making Zhuo Yuqing choke. She really wanted to cry. Brother, isn’t it obvious? Do I need to spell it out? I’m a girl, girls are supposed to be a bit reserved—though Zhuo Yuqing never thought she was.
“Beast! Who is it?” Shi Feng’s eyes widened when he saw Luo Chen come out twice with umbrellas, then saw Zhuo Yuqing enter the dorm with Luo Chen. No way—was he seeing things? Zhuo Yuqing was visiting his dorm at night!
Luo Chen pointed at Zhuo Yuqing. “Hey, birdbrain, Zhuo Yuqing wants to stay here to avoid the rain. You don’t mind, right?”
Shi Feng nodded eagerly. “Welcome, welcome! Zhuo Yuqing, you can stay here all night, no problem.”
Zhuo Yuqing was very satisfied. This was how a normal guy treated her. She’d heard Shi Feng was a weirdo, but compared to Luo Chen, he seemed much more reasonable.
Step one was finally successful—she’d managed to sneak into Luo Chen’s dorm. It wasn’t easy! Zhuo Yuqing suddenly felt both moved and sad. If she casually said she wanted to visit a guy’s dorm, the boys would probably be overjoyed and carry her in a sedan chair. Now, she had to shamelessly beg. What kind of treatment was this? Fine, even if she had stolen his crystal core in the Forest of Fear, that debt had long been repaid. Why was she so unlucky with this guy?
Luo Chen gestured around. “Haha, Zhuo Yuqing, sorry our dorm’s a bit messy. Hope you don’t mind.”
“No, no, I don’t mind at all!” Zhuo Yuqing glanced around and realized the mess was extraordinary. The clutter was one thing, but dirty socks and underwear scattered everywhere made her frown. She thought to herself, “If I said I didn’t mind, I’d be lying. This place isn’t a dorm, it’s a pigsty!”
