Chapter 137: The One Hundred and Eight Generals

Tang’s Ninth Young Miss was naturally generous. She took Xu Yun directly to the most famous nightclub in Hedong City, the Boiling Point. It was peak hour, and the place was packed. Tang Jiu immediately booked a VIP suite, which required a minimum spend of over twenty thousand.

Since it wasn’t coming out of his own pocket, Xu Yun didn’t care; she couldn’t possibly devour him.

Guided by a waiter, the two entered the suite. Tang Jiu immediately made a phone call and then headed to the restroom. Xu Yun sat back comfortably in the center of the massive sofa. Overhead, colorful lights pulsed, creating a heavy atmosphere. On the hundred-inch wall-mounted display, a music video Xu Yun didn’t recognize was playing; several alluring women were gyrating, and Xu Yun thought it was far less entertaining than the once-popular "Gangnam Style" horse dance.

Tang Jiu emerged from the restroom and smiled slightly at Xu Yun. "What would you like to drink? I’m not familiar with this place, so I don’t have any bottles stored here. If you don’t mind, just order whatever you like."

"How about this: bring two dozen beers, any brand will do, whatever," Xu Yun waved a hand.

The waiter standing to the side was in a tough spot. A room with a twenty-thousand minimum charge, and they only wanted two dozen beers? That was hardly justifiable... at the very least, they should be opening some fine imported spirits.

Seeing the waiter’s dilemma, Tang Jiu waved him off. "Do as he says for now. I’ll tell you what I want in a moment. You can go ahead and get the beer delivered immediately."

Once the two dozen beers were placed on the table, Tang Jiu gestured to them and said to Xu Yun, "I have very disciplined daily habits. I would never drink at this hour, let alone engage in a drinking contest. But today, I’m making an exception. I want you to see my sincerity. You drink a dozen, and I’ll match you."

A dozen meant twelve bottles. Xu Yun truly doubted Tang Jiu’s stomach could hold that much liquid. "Fine. If you drink me under the table, I’ll agree to your conditions, and I won't even ask why!"

"As long as you agree to help me, I will naturally tell you." As she spoke, Tang Jiu opened all the bottles. She took a large beer pitcher from the table, poured four bottles in with a glug-glug sound, raised the pitcher to Xu Yun, and said, "I’ll start as a gesture of respect."

Watching Tang Jiu tilt her head back and start pouring the beer down her throat, Xu Yun, naturally, wouldn't be outdone. He pulled out a beer, slammed the bottom with one hand, popped the cap with a crack, and downed the bottle straight. When it came to drinking, a man could never lose to a woman.

Xu Yun downed them bottle after bottle, one after another. By the time he had finished four, Tang Jiu’s large pitcher was also empty.

"Not bad, I didn't see that coming, you can really drink," Xu Yun pursed his lips, questioning, "Shall we continue?"

Without hesitation, Tang Jiu poured another four bottles into the pitcher. "Of course, until you are satisfied."

The two went through three rounds and finished all the beer. Xu Yun smacked his lips. "This doesn't seem quite satisfying enough. I didn't realize you had such a high tolerance. How about we switch to hard liquor? Shall we race with vodka?"

"The feeling is mutual. If we’re going to switch, let’s make it more intense. If we’re going to compete, let’s go until we’re fully satisfied." Tang Jiu pressed the call button in the suite and summoned the waiter.

"How may I serve you?" The waiter looked surprised to see the beer had been completely finished. He had seen many heavy drinkers, but he had never seen anyone drink that fast—twenty-four bottles, two people, in less than ten minutes...

Xu Yun crossed his legs. "Obviously, more alcohol. Where is the drink menu?"

Before the waiter could hand the menu to Xu Yun, Tang Jiu cut in: "No need. Do you have the 'One Hundred and Eight Generals' here? If you do, bring two sets!"

*Holy crap...* The waiter was stunned. Nobody dared to drink like that these days. Although their bar did have the "One Hundred and Eight Generals" on the menu, it was like in most other bars—just a display piece. No one ever ordered it. Aside from the exorbitant price, no one dared to drink it; it was a lethal way to consume alcohol.

The so-called "One Hundred and Eight Generals" consisted of a tray bearing one hundred and eight 200ml glasses, each filled with a different type of liquor. They had to be diverse—expensive stuff like Williams Chase Gin, Royal Salute Whisky, and Rémy Martin Cognac, along with high-proof spirits like Kaufmann Top-Tier Vodka, Corralejo Tequila, and Guizhou Moutai Feitian. Nothing on that tray was cheap; it was a complete collection of red, white, and yellow spirits.

If a bar didn't have the inventory, they couldn't even dream of serving the "One Hundred and Eight Generals."

Naturally, the price for one set was absurd. There were over twenty bottles that cost thousands each, and nothing was cheaper than two or three hundred per bottle... even though there was enough liquor to make two sets, this order was simply brutal.

"Miss... you have to pay for these bottles as soon as they are opened. If you really order this, the total for the set will be over seventy thousand..." The waiter swallowed hard. This was too shocking. Two people drinking seventy thousand worth of liquor—were they insane?! He had seen plenty of rich kids, but this was his first time seeing "crazy" rich kids.

Tang Jiu glared, the aura of a young heiress instantly taking over. "If I tell you to bring it, you bring it! Why so much nonsense? Do you want me to call your manager?"

"Yes, yes, yes!" Seeing Tang Jiu’s anger, the waiter rushed out. This was big news; he had to inform the manager.

Since the "One Hundred and Eight Generals" had become a thing, no bar had ever sold it. Plenty of people challenged each other to drinking contests, but few could handle the "Thirteen Guardians," a combination of thirteen strong spirits. Even the most formidable "God of Liquor" would only dare to play with something like the "Thirty-Six Transformations."

The manager was dumbfounded when he heard someone wanted the "One Hundred and Eight Generals." He had once seen a man known as the global "God of Liquor" at a large bar in Beijing attempt a combination called "Eighty-One Tribulations," and word had it the man was drunk for three days straight. And now, someone wanted to drink 108 varieties in his small establishment.

They were absolute lunatics.

"Manager, they must be rich. I saw it—her bag is a Louis Vuitton, and everything she’s wearing is a luxury brand," the waiter said. "Plus, they booked our twenty-thousand minimum VIP suite. They shouldn't be people who can't afford the bill."

The manager glared and slapped the waiter on the forehead. "Are you an idiot? You can buy luxury brands at street stalls everywhere these days! Who knows if they're real? Even if they are, they’ll definitely get drunk. Who’s going to pay you when they’re passed out? They’re crazy, have you gone crazy too? The 'One Hundred and Eight Generals' is just for show. Tell them we don't sell it!"

No sooner had the manager finished speaking than a gloomy voice came from behind him: "Don't sell it? But it’s on your menu."

"Hm?" The manager turned quickly to see a young man in expensive attire standing before him. Seeing the four bodyguard-like figures behind him, the manager immediately understood that a "big shot" had arrived at his humble establishment. He bowed and scraped, "Apologies, apologies, sir. Our place is small, we can't handle such a spectacle. If something happens to the guests, we wouldn't be able to bear the responsibility."

The expensively dressed young man lifted the corner of his mouth in a disdainful smirk. "Are you afraid no one will pay? Heh, how much is it? I’ll cover it for them."

"You..." The manager was stunned.

"Do as that girl says. If you can't meet their requirements, don't blame me for being impolite." The young man pulled a card from his pocket and threw it at the manager. "Swipe an extra ten thousand as a tip for yourself. Consider it my thanks for helping me find my sister here."

The manager realized he had run into a real tycoon. He bowed repeatedly, "Yes, yes, yes!" Turning to his staff, he snapped, "Hurry up and get it arranged! The 'One Hundred and Eight Generals'—don't get a single one wrong! Do you hear me? Be careful!"

The wealthy young man’s face maintained a cold, sinister smile. There was a hidden sense of triumph in his eyes, as if he had just won a great war.

The bar staff rushed to deliver the "One Hundred and Eight Generals" into the suite. When Xu Yun saw it, he was honestly a bit dumbfounded. Was this girl too fierce? Was she trying to kill him, or was she trying to kill herself?

Each massive tray was carried in by two people. Fortunately, the room Tang Jiu had booked was large, and the table was big enough to hold both trays.

"Come on, one for you and one for me. Neither of us can back down." Tang Jiu’s face appeared remarkably calm. "You know the rules of a drinking contest: once it starts, you can't run; you have to finish it. If you're afraid now, I’ll give you a chance to withdraw."

*Oh, to hell with that!* Since when had he ever been a coward? It was just a drinking contest. One hundred and eight? Even if it were one hundred and eighty, he would accompany her to the end! Xu Yun gritted his teeth. He had grown up in the Dragon Fury and had never lost to anyone in a drinking contest. Today, he absolutely could not be looked down upon by a girl.

Drink!

From the moment Tang Jiu picked up the first glass, Xu Yun followed suit. The sequence of the "One Hundred and Eight Generals" was meticulously arranged: one strong, one red, one white, one spicy... a repeating cycle designed to push human sensory limits to the extreme.

As soon as they downed the first glass of tequila, they were locked in. One glass after another, neither yielding. Tang Jiu’s brows were furrowed, her muscles tensed by the stimulation of the alcohol.

Xu Yun wasn't doing much better. He had never drunk like this before; it was too intense. If he could ever gather with his brothers from the Dragon Fury again, he would definitely make them try this, just to see how many of them would fall.

Just as they both downed the final glass, the suite door was pushed open, and four burly men in black suits strode in. Behind them followed the same expensively dressed young man.

Xu Yun was slightly startled. Had they entered the wrong room? Or had Tang Jiu invited someone else?

By this time, Tang Jiu’s eyes were glassy, her face flushed as red as a monkey’s. Dizzily, she looked toward the doorway and murmured, "You... you... why are you here?"
