“Ah?” Yan Chixia and She Meier cried out in alarm. “Why has the Veil of Light appeared again?”
Facing the Veil of Light, True Man Qingxu was equally stunned.
“Yes! How could this happen?”
Yet Fairy Jiuxiao’s expression remained unchanged.
“Since we are here, we must make the best of it. Qingxu, Meier, Yan Chixia, pay it no mind. Come, let us search for cultivation resources…”
“Exactly!” True Man Qingxu soon regained his composure. “Heaven never bars every road. Since we were able to enter, we will certainly be able to leave!”
When Yan Chixia and She Meier saw the black-iron stone door close once more and the Veil of Light reappear in a blaze of golden radiance, both had been gripped by anxiety, fearing that they might never escape this ancient ruin. Now, hearing the words of Fairy Jiuxiao and True Man Qingxu, they were greatly encouraged. Their worries immediately fell away, and they followed the two elders energetically along the tunnel, deeper into the ancient ruin.
Yan Chixia walked through the tunnel in a state of tremendous excitement, his wary gaze sweeping in every direction. To his great astonishment, although the tunnel was exceedingly long, it was not dark in the slightest. The stone walls shimmered with light, illuminating the entire cavern brilliantly. Everywhere they passed was spotless, and even the air was remarkably fresh.
When True Man Qingxu, Yan Chixia, Fairy Jiuxiao, and She Meier had first entered the ancient ruin, they had been extremely cautious. As they advanced warily, they had all prepared themselves for any sudden danger. But now that they had traveled a considerable distance without encountering the slightest mishap, their spirits gradually relaxed.
“Ah!” She Meier suddenly broke the silence with a sigh. “This ancient ruin is so quiet! Being here truly feels like being cut off from the world… Master, how did you discover such a mysterious place?”
“Hehe…” Fairy Jiuxiao could not help laughing. “Meier, you certainly are talkative! Still, I imagine Qingxu and Yan Chixia are eager to know the answer as well, are they not?”
“Your wisdom is unmatched, Immortal Elder!” True Man Qingxu replied. “I have indeed been wondering the same thing.”
“Quite so!” Yan Chixia could not restrain himself from speaking. “Immortal Elder Jiuxiao, you are absolutely right. I truly wish to know the answer!”

“Very well.” Fairy Jiuxiao gave a slight nod, her voice calm. “Qingxu, Yan Chixia, Meier, since you are so eager to know, I shall tell you. About half a year ago, I went to Spirit Sword Mountain in search of Dewbearing Jade. Among the jumbled rocks atop the mountain, I suddenly discovered a jade slip densely covered with ancient seal script.
“When I picked it up and examined it, I found that the writing recorded the details of this ancient ruin.
“According to the jade slip, there is a mysterious island in the Eastern Sea. It is almost always hidden beneath the vast expanse of ocean. Only once a year, in mid-March, when spring is warm, flowers are blooming, and the night of the full moon coincides with a powerful tide, does the sea level fall drastically enough for the mysterious island to emerge—for just a few hours…
“Beneath the mysterious island lies an ancient ruin created by two ancient immortals. They were a pair of cultivation companions who lived in the ruin beneath the island before they attained immortality.
“After a thousand years of cultivation, the pair finally became immortals and ascended together to the celestial realm. Before leaving the mysterious island, they stored a vast quantity of cultivation resources within the ancient ruin, including Seven-Colored Spirit Stones, Sea-Soul Garments, a Hundred-Herb Garden, spirit veins, spirit springs, and more. At the entrance, they arranged a seal, and within that seal they imbued a Veil of Light capable of tempering the body with the power of the Sea-Soul Garment.
“After reading the jade slip, I was half convinced and half doubtful. I wondered whether any of it could truly be real. After pondering the matter again and again, I decided that it was better to believe there might be something to it than to dismiss it entirely. I immediately employed the Clear Wind Escape Technique and went to the Eastern Sea to investigate in person…
“I flew above the Eastern Sea and released my divine sense, searching in every direction. Sure enough, amid the boundless ocean, I discovered the mysterious island hidden deep beneath the waves.
“I was immensely excited. I immediately submerged myself and began searching around the island with my divine sense for the entrance to the ancient ruin…
“The entrance was extraordinarily well concealed. I spent more than half a day using my divine sense to inspect nearly the entire mysterious island before finally discovering the black-iron stone door hidden behind a huge boulder, protected by a powerful seal…
“I was beside myself with excitement. I immediately used the Clear Wind Escape Technique and attempted to enter the ruin to see what lay within—but, naturally, I failed…
“After returning helplessly to Mount Li, I began constantly pondering how I might break the seal. Hehe… today, I have finally achieved my wish!”
At this, True Man Qingxu could not help laughing.
“Indeed! As the saying goes: ‘Nothing in this world is difficult for one who sets their mind to it!’”

Yan Chixia then spoke with great enthusiasm.
“Immortal Elder Jiuxiao, if what you say is true, then this ancient ruin must contain an enormous space. Otherwise, how could it possibly accommodate a Hundred-Herb Garden?”
“Yes, yes!” She Meier said excitedly. “Master, I really want to know—now that the immortals have departed, are there still medicinal herbs growing in the Hundred-Herb Garden? If so, what do they look like? Are they all wonderfully strange?”
“Hehe.” Fairy Jiuxiao smiled. “Meier, to tell you the truth, I too have very high hopes for that Hundred-Herb Garden.”
“Really?” She Meier grew even more excited. “Master, then let us hurry!”
Thus, Fairy Jiuxiao, She Meier, Yan Chixia, and True Man Qingxu quickened their pace.
As they continued deeper into the ruin, the space grew broader and broader, while the air became increasingly fresh. Before long, an exceedingly rich spiritual aura surged toward them…
Suddenly, everyone’s eyes lit up. An open expanse appeared ahead.
The ground there was carpeted with lush green grass. A simple, ancient-looking stone house stood in the midst of it, while a ribbon-like streak of white cloud floated above the roof. Not far before the house lay a garden filled with plants of every description, blooming in a riot of vivid colors.
At once, the spirits of Fairy Jiuxiao, She Meier, Yan Chixia, and True Man Qingxu lifted.
“Ah!” She Meier cried out in delight. “The ancient ruin has opened up! Master, there really is a Hundred-Herb Garden… This is wonderful! Yan Chixia, hurry! Come with me to see what medicinal herbs are growing there!”
“Gladly!” Yan Chixia answered readily. “Come on, She Meier.”
