Everything has two sides, and this matter is no exception.

I want to strip Yueyue of her Yin-Absorbing Technique, but I do not want it transferred to me. I may not be very capable, but I have no desire to inherit someone else’s cultivation. The most critical issue is not that, but whether I could digest the Yin-Absorbing Technique at all, and whether I would have the ability to control it. What if I became the next Yueyue?

"Auntie, this is so difficult!" I said, scratching the back of my head.

"Dachuan, I was just speaking hypothetically. I really didn’t intend to transfer the Yin-Absorbing Technique to you. You possess a supreme Yin body, a once-in-a-millennium phenomenon. You don't need to resort to such crooked paths; as long as you cultivate with dedication, you will naturally achieve great things."

But I was not reconciled. If the Yin-Absorbing Technique is not removed from Yueyue, she will never tell me the whereabouts of Wang Ying and Wei Qi. As it stands, she remains fiercely loyal to Xingyun, regarding him as her master.

"Wan'er, if I were to obtain Yueyue’s Yin-Absorbing Technique, would you fear me?" I turned to look at Wan'er beside me.

"I wouldn't fear you, but I don't want you to take that technique. I’m afraid it would corrupt your mind." Wan'er clutched my arm as if afraid I might run away.

"Don't worry, I won't do it for now." This is no small matter; the Yin-Absorbing Technique is too evil. If I were to transfer it to myself and then fail to control it, what would happen? Therefore, I simply cannot entertain such an idea.

"Little Aunt, could I do it? Why don't you transfer the Yin-Absorbing Technique to me? That way, if I see someone I don't like, I could just absorb their soul and cultivation," Fatty Shao said with a grin.

Auntie rolled her eyes at him. "With your physical condition, if that technique were transferred to you, you would explode instantly."

Fatty Shao chuckled and retreated to the side.

"Enough, let’s leave it at that for now. You two should go practice. Dachuan, don't forget to prepare a portion for Yueyue when you eat; she is human, after all, and naturally needs food."

"Oh!"

"Don't just stand there, go to the bungalow and practice." As Auntie headed inside, she threw those instructions at me and Fatty Shao before closing the door.

Fatty Shao and I climbed onto the flat roof and began absorbing Yin energy under the moonlight. As I stood there in a horse stance, my mind was a chaotic mess.

Fatty Shao spoke up. "Buddy, last night was so thrilling! Want to get rich?" He looked at me, his eyes darting around craftily.

"What do you mean? What are you planning?"

"Nothing much! There were so many artifacts in that temple last night! If we could just snag one, we’d be set. So, I was thinking..." Fatty Shao grinned.

"Buddy, don't say I didn't warn you. If you don't want to die, don't mess with Luoshui Temple." The experience last night was so perilous that if it weren't for my Fengchi divine weapon, I suspect the dragon would have devoured us both.

"Hehe, I was just talking, don't mind me!"

"I can't be bothered with that. My mind is already too cluttered." There were too many things going on, a total mess, and I had no heart to dwell on things I shouldn't. In the end, I decided to stop thinking altogether and focus on my cultivation. Once I mastered the techniques Auntie taught me, I could go find Xingyun.

Half the night passed, and I was exhausted. I collapsed and fell into a deep sleep. When I woke up, it was already daylight. I glanced over, and Fatty Shao, who usually slept like a pig, was already up.

That kid was up early today! I climbed up and got dressed, but before I could step out, Auntie called out, "Dachuan, Chuyuan, time to go! We need to head to the hall."

Seeing me come out alone, Auntie asked, "Where is Chuyuan?"

"I don't know! I woke up early and didn't see him." I scratched my head and ducked into the bathroom.

"I saw him go out late last night," Wan'er said from the side. "I wanted to ask him, but he’s a grown man, and I thought maybe he had a date or something, so I didn't pry."

"Why would he go out in the middle of the night?" Auntie paused.

I wondered the same thing. Recalling what he had said the night before, my heart skipped a beat. Surely he wouldn't have gone to Luoshui Temple in the dead of night, would he? I hurriedly told Auntie about his earlier comments.

Auntie cursed in anger, pulled out her phone to make a call to her sister, and then hung up. She instructed Wan'er to stay and watch Yueyue, then gestured with her hand. "Come on, follow me to Black Dragon Pool. That idiot must have gone into Luoshui Temple. Damn it, that whole family is obsessed with money—they’d risk their lives for it."

I quickly followed Auntie out. When we reached Black Dragon Pool, we found his clothes lying on the bank.

"Dachuan, I have to rely on you. I can't go down there," Auntie said, looking at the dark, murky water.

"Don't worry, Auntie. I'll go down; I've been there once before anyway." Because I had the Fengchi sword with me, I wasn't too afraid.

Auntie nodded. I stripped down to my underwear, ready to dive in, but Auntie grabbed me.

"Dachuan, take these." She pulled two small paper figures from her pocket and placed them in my hands.

"Auntie, what is this?" I didn't understand. I had seen her paper figures before; that night, she blew a breath on them, and they turned into living people—one of them even carried me for a long distance!

"Chuyuan hasn't come up yet, so he must be in trouble. There are reasons I can't go down there, so you’ll have to go for me. Bring that brat back up. It infuriates me—I told him not to go down there, but he never listens. Take these two paper figures. If you encounter an emergency, recite the incantation and blow a breath on them; they will become living people to assist you. When you don't need them, break the spell, and they will revert to their original form."

Looking at these paper figures, I found them truly miraculous. I worried that taking them underwater might soak them, but Auntie assured me they wouldn't; the paper figures were possessed by Yin spirits and were impervious to water.

After exchanging a few words with Auntie, I dove into Black Dragon Pool. Having been there once, I quickly found my way to Luoshui Temple. It looked just as it had before. I made a circuit, but I couldn't find a trace of Fatty Shao.

"Fatty Shao! Fatty Shao!" I shouted into the void. After calling for a long time, there was no answer, only the sound of my own voice echoing back.

What was happening? Could he have been eaten by the dragon? If he had really been devoured, that would be tragic.

Just as I was swimming about, a gust of wind blew past, and the dragon reappeared. It darted toward the north, and I clearly saw something in its mouth—it was Fatty Shao.

I brandished the Fengchi divine weapon and gave chase. The dragon wasn't flying particularly fast, so I caught up. After pursuing it for a while, I was exhausted. I quickly took out the paper figures, recited the incantation Auntie had taught me, and blew a breath on them. Instantly, two burly men in black appeared beside me. "Master, what are your orders?" I ran in the middle, with one on each side.

"I can't keep running, but we have to keep chasing them," I said, panting heavily.

As soon as I finished, my body felt light, and I was suddenly on the back of one of the men in black. His speed was incredible—he was almost flying.

"Master, use that sword to strike it!" the other man in black shouted.

The dragon was a spiritual creature; I really didn't want to strike it with the Fengchi divine weapon, but I had no choice. If I didn't, Fatty Shao would be in grave danger. What if it swallowed him? I raised the Fengchi divine weapon and swung it with all my might.

*Whoosh!* With that strike, a flash of light, bright as lightning, illuminated the entire world.

After the light faded, the dragon holding Fatty Shao was gone. Instead, the two men in black and I suddenly found ourselves in an unfamiliar environment. Where was this? I remembered the gray, dim temple, but now everything had changed—there were mountains, water, and forests.

"Where is this?" I looked around in curiosity. It was a strange place—red flowers, green trees, pavilions, and towers. The air was fresh; there wasn't a hint of smog.

"Reporting to Master, I do not know where this is," the man in black beside me said.

"Master, this looks like ancient times! It seems we have traveled through time," the man who had been carrying me said.

No way. Was this real? I hadn't struck the dragon, but I had managed to strike myself into another era. This was too ridiculous!
