Chapter Ninety-Two: The Dean's Schemes

In another part of the city, the hospital director, who had only just pulled some strings to get back into his post, heard what had happened and went deathly pale. In a fury, he slapped the administrator in charge of the matter across the face.

“What on earth are you doing?!”

“Tell me the truth. How many doses of that special medicine did you secretly produce? And how many patients did you sell it to?”

The administrator was knocked sideways by the blow, and a bright red handprint sprang up on his cheek at once.

Yet he dared to rage inwardly, but not to speak.

He knew his wife had always indulged her younger brother, so he had usually turned a blind eye to the little kickback schemes he carried out at the hospital.

He had never imagined that such leniency would one day bring down a catastrophe of this magnitude upon his head.

“O-only... about... one hundred and fifty doses...”

At the number, even the director, who had prepared himself for the worst, felt a sudden choke in his chest.

The hospital laboratory had only produced fifty doses in total.

And this beast...

In secret, without saying a word, he had made three times as many outside the lab.
