“Susanoo! Come out here this instant!”

Above the Sakura Kingdom, Yakami glared down at the land and shouted angrily.

Susanoo, one of the revered gods worshiped by the Sakura Kingdom since its founding, had long guarded the realm. Until Yakami’s appearance, which brought death and destruction throughout the kingdom. Filled with hatred, Susanoo wielded his treasured sword and engaged Yakami in battle.

Both were divine beings, and their clash shook heaven and earth. Yet, Yakami had already been sealed of most of his power from a previous fight, ultimately falling to Susanoo. To prevent Yakami from bringing ruin again, Susanoo used his sword to completely imprison him.

Yakami’s wide eyes fixed on the ground, but as he spoke, the green aura around him gradually faded, soon vanishing altogether.

This left Yakami bewildered. Could it be he had been mistaken? Had Susanoo not truly awakened?

Meanwhile, Xiao Yu hovered painfully in the air, clutching his head, his anguished roar growing louder. Seeing Susanoo’s power disappear, Yakami shifted his gaze once more to Xiao Yu above, but chose not to strike. Instead, he came to stand not far from him, quietly observing.

Suddenly, a rift tore open in the void, and two figures stepped forth—Kong Wudao and Wuqing.

Their arrival stunned everyone nearby, even Yakami. To tear open the void with bare hands and descend—such strength, though not extraordinary in their former world, was undoubtedly top-tier here.

Kong Wudao and Wuqing glanced at Yakami, both furrowing their brows uneasily. Under their gaze, Yakami also felt discomfort, sensing a strange familiarity in their eyes.

Their eyes then shifted to Xiao Yu, whose current state tightened their chests. In an instant, they appeared before him, reaching out to seize him.

But as their hands nearly grasped his arms, a powerful force repelled them. Sensing the intrusion, Xiao Yu, who had been clenching his eyes shut in agony, suddenly opened them wide. Without hesitation, he gripped his sword tightly and swung fiercely at Kong Wudao and Wuqing.

Seeing the overwhelming sword energy hurtling toward them, Kong Wudao frowned and pointed forward. The fierce sword aura instantly dissipated into nothingness. Those watching, including Feng Qingge, were deeply shaken. They knew they could not have so easily withstood such a strike.

“Boy, wake up! If you fall to darkness, you’ll be lost forever!” Kong Wudao shouted anxiously.

Hearing this, Xiao Yu’s face twisted in torment, his blood-red eyes locked on them. His pain was palpable.

“Ah! Kill! Kill! Kill!”

Suddenly, Xiao Yu howled toward the sky, about to strike Kong Wudao and Wuqing, when a beam of white light shot down from the heavens, enveloping him.

As the light surrounded him, a gentle voice imbued with magic echoed softly in Xiao Yu’s mind. The savage fury within him began to still. For some reason, the voice felt deeply familiar—he could cast aside all distractions upon hearing it.

“Heaven and earth without me, the heart triumphs over matter!”

With the final words, Xiao Yu’s head felt as if it would burst. A powerful aura surged from his body, and the blood-red glow in his eyes cleared.

Now, suspended in the void in a star-shaped posture, Xiao Yu felt as if he had merged with the surrounding space itself. The sensation was immensely comforting.

After a moment, Xiao Yu flipped skillfully in midair and steadied himself in the void. With eyes closed, he waved his hand, and the vanished sword instantly reappeared, dancing ceaselessly in the void.

A formidable power radiated from his swordplay, sending ripples through the surrounding space. As his speed quickened, the world’s energy converged upon him and his blade, illuminating him with a divine radiance.

The onlookers watched silently, deeply moved by the spectacle. Even Feng Qingge smiled wryly. If he had once desired to fight Xiao Yu, now he lacked even the courage to move against him.

After a long while, Xiao Yu finally ceased, slowly opening his eyes. Upon seeing Kong Wudao and Wuqing looking at him with affectionate smiles, he asked with confusion, “Master, why have you come? I don’t recall what happened before.”

“All because of you, boy. But thankfully, you’re alright,” Kong Wudao replied, stroking his beard with a smile.

Embarrassed, Xiao Yu scratched his head and then looked toward Yakami. Turning to Kong Wudao and Wuqing, he said, “Master, please wait here a moment longer. I’ll deal with this monster first!”

His words were neither too loud nor too soft, but they reached Yakami’s ears in full. Yakami flew into a rage. Though he once was a god, he now knew Xiao Yu was but a lowly human.

With a furious roar, Yakami charged at Xiao Yu. Xiao Yu’s eyes hardened, sword in hand, and he met Yakami’s charge head-on. The two fierce forces clashed, and their figures quickly separated.

As he retreated, Yakami’s palm flared with black flames, which he hurled at Xiao Yu. Xiao Yu stood firm, only swinging his sword as the fireball neared. The ball split in two with a violent explosion that left him unscathed.

“I want to know what you meant before. Do you know me? Or did we once have some connection?”

After deflecting Yakami’s attack, Xiao Yu did not press forward but hovered in the void, questioning with genuine confusion.

Hearing this, Kong Wudao and Wuqing’s faces turned uneasy. It seemed they knew something after all.
