Chapter 127: The Dominant Six Harmonies
"Big Brother, are you alright?"
Seeing Xiao Yu appear before them, Azure Dragon and the others immediately gathered around. They were all deeply shaken by the battle they had just witnessed.
Xiao Yu swept his gaze across the group, shook his head slowly, and said calmly, "Let us return. This Sakura Nation no longer has the capacity to threaten Yanxia."
Upon hearing this, the group nodded gently. For them, whatever decision Xiao Yu made, they would follow unconditionally. Even if it were wrong, they would not hesitate for a moment.
Just as they were preparing to depart, several powerful auras suddenly descended from the distant sky. Sensing these presences, Xiao Yu’s brow furrowed, and his eyes instantly shifted toward the horizon.
Xiao Yu had initially assumed these were the ignorant martial artists of the Sakura Nation. However, as the figures drew closer, he realized with surprise that they possessed the features of the Yanxia people and were, in fact, cultivators in the Integration Stage.
Cultivators of the Integration Stage were rare in the Yanxia cultivation world, as those who reached the Nascent Soul stage were almost universally recruited by the Law Enforcement Hall. Undoubtedly, these individuals must be from that very organization.
While Xiao Yu was still pondering their purpose, the figures descended rapidly to the space above them.
"This is the place. There is a lingering, immensely powerful dark energy here, alongside the resonance of heaven and earth. A great battle must have occurred here not long ago," a Law Enforcement Hall elder said in a low voice after steadying himself, his eyes scanning the surroundings.
"If you want to know what happened, why not just ask the people below?" A white-haired elder in black robes remarked with a smile, his gaze falling upon Xiao Yu and his companions.
Hearing this, the group exchanged glances and slowly descended to where Xiao Yu stood.
"Hmm? People from Yanxia?" one of the elders inquired the moment they touched the ground.
"Something the matter?" Xiao Yu asked coldly. He had never held any fondness for the Law Enforcement Hall, so he saw no reason to offer them a pleasant demeanor.
The elders were taken aback by Xiao Yu’s attitude. One elder in crimson robes stepped forward, shouting indignantly, "How dare you! Since you are all from Yanxia, do you not know that we are elders of the Law Enforcement Hall, the premier power in our land?"
Upon hearing this, Xiao Yu and his companions exchanged looks, a touch of amusement playing on their faces.
"Oh, so you are elders of the Law Enforcement Hall. My apologies," Xiao Yu said, turning slowly to face them with a respectful tone—though the mockery inherent in his posture was not lost on them.
"You..."
The crimson-robed elder was burning with rage and was about to strike when another elder pulled him back. "Elder Liu, keep your temper in check. Let us first ascertain what happened here. Do not forget the instructions given by Protector Nanke."
At the mention of Protector Nanke, Elder Liu visibly shuddered. He suppressed his anger, gave a cold snort, and retreated to the side.
"Hehe, please forgive us, young friends. Elder Liu is simply of a fiery temperament. We bear no ill will; we only wish to ask if you know what transpired here."
Xiao Yu realized they were investigating his battle with Yamata no Orochi. Unwilling to invite further trouble, he shook his head, indicating that they knew nothing of the matter.
"If there is nothing else, we shall be leaving," Xiao Yu said flatly. He then fixed his gaze on Elder Liu and added in a low, warning tone, "A volatile temper is a sickness; you should curb it. Otherwise, one day you may offend someone you shouldn't and lose your life for nothing."
With that, Xiao Yu ignored them and led the Twelve Heavenly Generals down the mountain.
"Stop right there!"
A furious roar echoed from behind, coming from Elder Liu. Yet, Xiao Yu and his party continued their descent without even glancing back.
"You refuse a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit! You are courting death!"
Having been ignored by someone, Elder Liu, who was accustomed to being held in high regard as an elder of the Law Enforcement Hall, felt his pride stung like never before. Without a word, he unleashed a palm strike toward them, sending a massive surge of spiritual energy sweeping toward the group.
Just as Elder Liu curled his lips into a smile, expecting his targets to be crushed, a sword aura suddenly manifested in mid-air. It slashed through his power, instantly reducing the surging energy to nothingness. The momentum did not stop there, as the blade of light continued toward him with undiminished speed.
Shocked, Elder Liu frantically waved his hands, erecting a shield of spiritual energy before him.
*Bang!*
The sword aura struck the shield, creating a deafening explosion. The shockwave sent Elder Liu flying, and he crashed into the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood. As he scrambled to his feet, he looked on in terror at a young man holding a longsword.
The one who had struck was Liuhe. Although Elder Liu was an Integration Stage cultivator, Liuhe’s strength was firmly established on the Divine Ranking, and he was more than confident in dealing with the elder.
"Does everyone in your Law Enforcement Hall only know how to launch sneak attacks from behind?" Liuhe sheathed his sword, his expression grim as a murderous intent radiated from him.
Feeling the pressure from Liuhe, the other elders of the Law Enforcement Hall turned pale, sensing a grave danger. The elder who had restrained Liu earlier quickly stepped forward. "Young friend, it is a misunderstanding. All of this is a misunderstanding."
"A misunderstanding? If I killed him and told you it was a misunderstanding, how would you feel?" Liuhe asked coldly.
"Liuhe, let’s go. Do not let these wastes delay our journey home. We will visit the Law Enforcement Hall one day; there is no need to rush."
Xiao Yu’s voice drifted over. Upon hearing this, Liuhe snorted coldly, turned around, and followed Xiao Yu, vanishing from the mountain peak.
